Jimmy John's — Restaurant in Rochester

I stopped by for a sandwich on 3-11 not long after they opened. All the staff were diligently working but my eye caught on the man wrapping the sandwiches at the end of the line. While I waited for my food, I watched as he wrapped each sandwich with care. One time he wasn’t satisfied with his wrap and he threw the paper out. Maybe whoever that sandwich belonged to wouldnt have cared that it wasn’t wrapped perfect but it was clear that it mattered to the man wrapping it. It says a lot about a person that no matter what job you are doing, that you do it to the best of your ability and take pride in what you do. I truly appreciated how much pride he took in doing a good job. I wanted to tell him, I see you, and appreciate you. I got too shy to say so in person, but here I am telling everyone who cares to read this. If the owner reads this, I hope you value this employee every day as much as I did in the few minutes I waited for my food on this one day. Good help is hard to find, so I hope you notice when you have good ones and reward them...

PSA: In Rochester, never order Jimmy Johns through DoorDash! You are charged all the fees, and yet, Jimmy John's uses their own drivers. If they don't have their own driver's on any particular day, they do NOT deliver, regardless of whether you ordered through DoorDash, UberEats, or any other food delivery service.

They will call you, after you've placed the order via DoorDash, and let you know they cannot deliver. (What is Jimmy John's known for? Freaky fast delivery, right!?") BUT, when they tell you they "have to cancel your order," they actually "complete" the order via DoorDash, meaning, unless YOU file a complaint with DoorDash within 72 business hours, letting DoorDash know you didn't receive your order, (taking for granted that CANCEL actually means canceling the order) you will NOT receive a refund.

Always good for a quick and healthy bite. Especially if you get the Unwich instead of the bun or wrap.

Highly recommend adding Jimmy Peppers to you sandwiche orders to give them an extra kick of heat and spice. 😋

Always check your order/bag before driving away. I've had to return twice in a row, (two separate visits,) due to items missing, thankfully we eat in the parking lot so the drive wasn't far. The staff is friendly enough though and will make things right.
