Well-organized (if not sometimes pricey) impermanent outdoor tent market. Saturdays are POPPING! Great vegetables — lots of organic and heirloom varietals. Great garlic booth, lefse. Mushroom selection is poor. I see more baked goods than I enjoy seeing at a farmer’s market. Parking is persistently terrible with heavy traffic, odd parking space layout/distribution, with frighteningly high numbers of pedestrians darting perilously close behind cars and with shockingly few sidewalks (thank you government, thank you public sector “professionals”). Exercise caution at all times in the parking areas there are no designated crosswalks past the intersection at Broadway Ave.

Read moreThe Rochester MN farmers market is the best place to buy plants in May for your garden. Plants were $3.50 each and I got everything I wanted and more. When you are craving fresh asparagus in spring, tomatoes in summer, and fall produce this is the best place to get it. It is expensive but you are supporting local farmers and it tastes so incredible its worth the treat. For example I got the sweetest asparagus I've ever had this May but two bunches cost $12. Tomatoes are the same in the summer, $5 per pound which can lead to a single $10 tomato if it's hefty like beefsteak. There are delicious food vendors and a spacious area for eating and resting.
