I can genuinely say that going to the corn tower was THE single best moment of my life. I’ve lived in Rochester for 14+ years and have always heard of the corn tower and occasionally passed it on the way to Walmart. But one day I took the time out of my day to stop and admire the Tower of corn, and I felt whole, I felt all negativity leave my body, as the weight was lifted off my shoulders I hysterically sobbed staring at the incredible noble water tower looking over the town. I was more then just a tower to me, it has become a life style, religion, and over all way of being. The corn tower has done nothing but improve my life in many ways. The water tower was built in 1929 to provide water to the adjacent cannery which has since closed but the tower lives on. It is 151 feet tall and that includes the 60 foot tall tank. It holds 50,000 gallons though it has not been used for such since the Seneca Foods plant closed in 2018.
