Been eating at John Hardy’s for 35 years and this is the WORST FOOD I’ve ever gotten- I knew John personally and he is turning in his grave at what is being made in his restaurant. JoJos black and hard as a rock, bread hard as a rock also. And when calling to ask for a mgr- The employees continually hang up the phone. Not even close to what it used to be for quality and service. A DISGRACE to Johns LEGACY!!!!!!!!

Nice place for a simple meal of real smoked meats. The wings were big and meaty the salad fresh and simple and a generous portion of meat and maybe more potatoes than necessary. The sauces on the side are unique and tasty enough but not particularly notable. The service was mostly attentive and the prices are fair.

Best barbecue I have had since moving up here. I had the pork plate "hot" at the recommendation of my coworkers. The garlic bread and jojos were great additions. The fried okra was good but kind of paled in comparison to the rest. Excuse the pic, I had taken a couple of bites before taking it.

I don’t know if John Hardy is still with us but this was my WORST experience! I sat for a while to get service, but the reviews say best in Rochester. Well I ordered the combo ribs and brisket! $13.99Pay attention to the fine print under for the .99 cent up charge for each. Now $15. Ok supposed to nt know if John Hardy is still with us but this was my WORST experience! I sat for a while to get service, but the reviews say best in Rochester. Well I ordered the combo ribs and brisket! $13.99Pay attention to the fine print under for the .99 cent up charge for each. Now $15. Ok supposed to be the best in Rochester. They meat was tuff, bland and the only flavor was from the propane they used to cook the meat. To go with the meat I got the “Hardy potatoes “ or what ever they are called and baked beans. 3rd bite from the potatoes I got a mouth full of long luscious dark hair, I am bald! So after sitting for almost 15 minutes with an empty glass, I finally got waitress to pay attention long enough to come over and grab the empty glass. I had to stop her to actually tell her I had a problem. Now she did apologize and take my plate and glass. About 10 minuets later I got a new plate of food....... after about 5 more minutes of trying to flag my waitress down-4 empty tables and it is a small place- she asks what I need and I tell her the drink she left with. Now I can’t seem to eat much after the hair and after 10 more Minutes of attempting to flag her down I ask for my bill. I wait 5 more minutes to get he bill to see what I missed at the bottom-up charge- and a $20 bill. I waited 5 more minutes of flagging to ask about the up charge and the waitress was nice enough to point it out for me. No attempt to make things right with the mouth full of hair, but I did get a new plate of food I now can’t seem to eat. If John is alive he should be ashamed of not he should be...

I was in for a to go order. I had fond memories of eating here as a kid before moving away for 15 years. I wanted a trip down memory lane so I stopped by for a to go order. I really should have checked the bag before I left. I typically do this with fast food but tend to trust sit down oriented eateries to get my to go correct. Anyways, after having to repeat my order 4 times to the counter person, it was still wrong. My order was missing 4 hot links and was given medium sauce instead of mild. I know ingredient prices are through the roof, but the food was lackluster. The pork and brisket both bland. The brisket rubbery and was cut wrong. It was cut with the grain instead of against. I don’t mean to be that nitpicky, but I worked as a pit master for a couple of years in Austin Texas. The jojos were cooked to the right doneness, but tasted of old fryer oil. I don’t blame the general cook staff. I’m sure they make do with what they’re given. I point the finger at whoever is running the kitchen. Look man, I get it’s tough, but you gotta find your passion for food again. You seem burnt out my guy. And if it’s not you, whoever owns the place needs to do whatever they can to give your people the tools to make better food. Smoak absolutely blows you guys out of the water. I’m sure y’all got plenty of diehards that’ll witch hunt me, but I’m just giving my truth. Good luck out...

I am southern born and southern bred. The sign says southern BBQ. YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. I WOULD NOT FEED THIS SLOP TO MY DOG. This my first and last time. My skin crawls just thinking about it. This is got to be the worst BBQ I have ever ate. My suggest is for the owner to travel to Birmingham AL and go to Dreamland BBQ. It's called Dreamland for a reason. I am dreaming about it now. Instead of the night mare I just experienced at John Hardy BBQ. I tell you now John is turning over in grave. He being a Birmingham soul too. Thank God he is not here to see what you have done. I had the rib and beef brisket. Worst ever. Gone to any BBQ joint in Texas for beef brisket if you want great BBQ. Both were dried out and I could not finish my meal. Thank God for the bread, jojos, and Cole slaw otherwise I would have starved. Told the manager this thought he would give a discount since I could not finish the meat, but to my surprise he said sorry you feel that way. That's ok he just gave me the go ahead for this review. You been warned do eat north or south John Hardy's BBQ. They are both bad bad bad. I will not be back and do not...
