My sons and I were at Mayo for appointments. We had time in between appointments so we were looking for a store to buy religious items and just was drawn into the store by the gorgeous artwork. There were so many favorite pieces we could have spent all day there. My favorites I remember is a man who put such fine details into his wood carvings of normal everyday people. It was gorgeous. As we were admiring the art work a lady came over and gave us a tour and we learned so much! She was incredibly kind to my son who enjoys carving and wood burning himself. We bought a little wood bird that is made to be held in your hand and comfort you and we bought a wood carving book! I'm so impressed by the work shown and by the woman's kindness and knowledge! I had the most wonderful time looking and being completely enthralled by the creative work of local artists. There are beautiful paintings of the natural world from landscapes to portraits of bison or loons or horses running free. I love the jewelry and the woodcarvings. I bought two beautiful little birds carved from cedar one for me and one for a friend. I will return in the future and will again find something beautiful for myself and for friends and family. I give this wonderful store two thumbs up. And I want to add the owner, James Krom, is helpful and kind. You can tell he loves the art that he sells . If you like art or can appreciate true craftsmanship, you will love this store! Our trip to the Mayo Clinic was immeasurably better because of this store. There are bronze castings that are incredibly beautiful, wood carvings that the attention to detail goes down to the veins in a birds feather, and hand crafted bowls that truly boggle the mind with the sheer complexity.
