Every trip we make to the Mayo Clinic is pretty much a mulligan of hope and faith, and here we are once again. The days start early and end late. This visit was an exceptionally long one for us filled with appointments, labs, and lumbar punctures. So we chose to stay at The Towers at Kahler Grand because it offers just what we needed in every way. A special and luxurious treat for the both of us. The Towers at the Kahler Grand is top notch and offers the quickest temperature controlled route to Mayo in mere minutes.||||We lucked out as our spacious room was on the concierge level. This particular floor met our needs and Shane was quick to get us checked in, turn down the AC, and remind us cocktail hour was about to begin in their parlor room. We met several fellow travelers that were there for the same reasons we were: hope, faith, and answers. We were quick to make friends and toast to better days with top-shelf spirits and notable vineyards bottles of wine.||||They offer the kind of care you don’t realize how much you need until you receive it. It reminded me of finding my favorite tee shirt after I thought it was forever lost.||||In my personal opinion, the employees at The Towers surpass a level of excellence. Shane, David, Goldie, Ken, Hisham, and others whose names we didn’t catch, all represent the spirit of this hotel.||||They greet us by our names, literally go the extra mile to pick up our favorite sandwiches from a nearby deli, and made us feel less like guests and more like friends. Honestly, if I ever thought about opening a hotel, I’d just hire the entire team.||||Blake and I have been fortunate to of traveled extensively around the world and stayed in some of the most luxurious hotels. The Towers easily met the warmth and hospitality offered at the others but I call The Towers a wonderland of compassion and comfort during a time when you need it most.||||Please don’t miss out on this level of excellence. I never thought I’d say this about medical trips, but I actually look forward to our visits now… because each one feels like a reunion of sorts.||||And thanks again Shane for finding the perfect room, the snacks, and so much more. Thank you David for asking about my husband every time we saw each other and helping us manage every day plus the car service pick up help. Thank you Ken and Goldie for making the pick up of the best Cuban sandwiches from City Market happen. And thank you Hisham for just being you.||||All of you made this particularly difficult trip so much easier and way more pleasant than we expected. Hope to see you...
Read moreI travel at least annually, and oftentimes more frequently, to Mayo Clinic in Rochester attending to my and my wife's health needs. With all of the trips to the clinic, to restaurants and the "neat" things that downtown Rochester, MN, has to offer, I insist on overnight accommodations that are the best I can find. I have been making these trips for over 14 years.||There is, without exception I can find, no hotel in Rochester that can exceed the totality of the benefits provided by the Towers at Kahler. The 10th and 11th floors of the Kahler Hotel have been visited by very distinguished guests for years - dignitaries from many foreign countries, diplomats, politicians, and many other people needing a hotel that provides comfort and the kindness of a staff that understands "why" people are visiting Rochester.||The Towers at Kahler are directly across the street from the south entrance to Mayo Clinic - a 150 feet walk. When the weather is inclimate, one can choose to take a very comfortable and still brief walk through the subway level access to the clinic.||There is simply no hotel location in Rochester that is as close to Mayo Clinic than the Towers. However, nothing about the services provided at the Kahler take second place to any other place you can stay. The element of your stay at the Towers that exceeds the location is the amazing kindness and expertise of the staff. They truly treat everyone the same - like your are the only guest in the building and like they are consumed with fulfilling every request you might have.||David, Hisham, Shane, Cameron have been on this "concierge" type floor for years. They, and those who have more recently joined the staff, are completely committed to the needs of the guest and work incessantly to provide the fundamental as well as the "not so" fundamental needs.||They provide transportation to and from and all in between. They provide food and drinks, from the specialty items prepared by them for the guests on the concierge floors to items you want from the excellent hotel menu, including coffee and breakfast in the morning continuing to evening supper and a great assortment of snacks, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. If they don't have it and they can possibly find it, they will do everything within reason to get it for you.||Even after searching through years of experience - I cannot find one negative thing about my experience at the Towers at Kahler. You will not be...

A trip to the Mayo Clinic is rarely on anyone’s bucket list and yet, here we are again. The days are early and very long, filled with appointments, scans, labs, hopeful conversations, and more lumbar punctures than we thought Blake would go through yer again. Our decision to spend time at The Towers not only offers respite, but genuinely feels like home! That’s rare. Very rare. Lucky for Blake and me….it’s The Towers at the Kahler Grand.
We stayed on the concierge level, where luxury meets heart. Every need (or mind meld) was met with warmth, respect, and a kind of attentiveness that feels both professional and accommodating. From our room (kept at a cool 65° even during Rochester’s record heatwave due to corn sweat ….hallelujah!) to the comfort of breakfast in bed, tea time, and evening spreads with top-shelf spirits and wines from my favorite vineyards. They offer the kind of care you don’t realize how much you needed until you receive it. Like a big hug or a box of tissues.
But what truly sets The Towers apart is its staff. Shane, David, Goldie, Ken, Hisham, and others whose names we didn’t catch (but whose smiles we’ll never forget) are the beating heart of The Towers. They remembered our names, went the extra mile (and then a few more to City Market for Cuban sandwiches ), and somehow made us feel less like guests and more like genuine friends. Honestly, if I ever open a hotel, I won’t need a hiring process, I’d just steal the entire team. Lol. Totally true!
My husband and I have traveled the world and stayed in some of the most luxurious hotels, and yet none have come close to the seamless hospitality offered here. I refer to it as a wonderland of compassion and comfort during a time when Blake and I need it most.
So whether you’re in town for a conference, medical care, or just passing through and need a night off, please don’t miss out on The Tower’s level of excellence. I never thought I’d say this about medical trips, but I actually look forward to our next visit because each one feels like a little...
