Red Lobster — Restaurant in Rochester

My husband and I received the worst service we have ever experienced anywhere. Right away it took a little bit for our server to greet us which we understood as it was a little busy. She got us waters and took our order right away. After that she never once stopped by our table again. We never received the drinks we ordered and after 10 minutes got some biscuits delivered by someone else but they were just quick dropped off without a word. Another server delivered our food. I was missing one of my sides and since no one ever came to check on us I never did get it. The food we did get was wonderful but we never got a refill on our waters or biscuits. After sitting there with empty plates for over 25 minutes my husband saw someone who looked like a manager and got up to go speak with him. As he was waking over the man saw my husband and walked away in the other direction. It took another 5 minutes for us to flag down a server and say we just wanted to pay and leave at this point. Finally our original server who we hadn't seen since ordering stopped and said "you guys need water refills." We stated that we just wanted our bill and to make sure that the drinks and salad we didn't receive were taken off. She returned with the check and had only taken one drink off. She went to get it fixed and then the salad was still on there but at this point we had been waiting so long we paid and left. I have never not tipped before but since we had zero service while there we felt no tip was deserved. I have been a server before so I can understand to a certain point but this was very unprofessional and ridiculous. We were given no apology and the manager didn't even come over to say anything or apologize and the server just kept mumbling some random excuses that made no sense. I don't remember her name but I know the manager at the time was named Nick and was making sure to avoid us. Ahhh what a disappointment! Seriously I have always been a huge red lobster fan, it brings back soooo many memories growing up in the 90s- 2000s. We even went here before the prom dance, I haven’t really eaten here since then. But I watched a recent interview on “the breakfast club” with the new CEO who turned PF Changs around. So we gave it a try last week, what a mistake. It was super slow on a Wednesday night, no dinner rush at all there were literally on about 3 families.

We ordered the steak and shrimp special for $30, fried kalamari and a couple side salads. I ordered medium and my gf ordered medium well. After a while the appetizer came which I was surprised about. The kalamari was no rubbery and the dipping sauce was really good. Once the entrees came out my gfs was swimming in blood (clearly not medium well). So after finally getting someone’s attention they took back the meal to cook a new steak, new mash and new lobster. Her food didn’t come out until I was almost done with mine. Defeats the whole purpose of eating together. The manager did bring out there refire, but didn’t offer an apology for the mistake, the wait, literally nothing. We were so disappointed in the flavors of the food it bummed out the whole experience.

The tab for 2 steak and lobster specials, 1 app, 1 pepsi and 2 side salads $80 something bucks. I I left a $20 for the tip since the waitress did check on us often and was pretty friendly. But for $100+ I would have rather went to an actual steakhouse if I am going to pay steakhouse prices without the steakhouse quality. No flavor, bland, underwhelming experience. The best part of the meal were the biscuits, but even those they bring out 3 at a time. Like those aren’t going to be gone in 3 secs than you have to wait for more right away. I will...

This has always been one of our favorite places to eat, but the last two visits have been disappointing. We went for dinner tonight, it was about 6:30pm & not very busy. We ordered drinks, then food. I selected the fish sandwich without the tartar sauce, or coleslaw on it. It come with a side of French fries and 2 hush puppies. I upgraded the side from the French fries to a salad with dressing on the side. My salad came when the drinks arrived. It was fresh and crisp. My sandwich arrived but it was smothered in tartar sauce. I tried to scrape it off, but the fish was hot when they added it- and it was melted into it. The hush puppies were missing. The server came back by to see how our first bites were. I told her I requested no sauce or anything on the sandwich. She just shrugged. I never took a single bite of the sandwich, it wasn’t at all what I expected. When the meal was over, she offered me a box. I declined, explaining “all the tartar sauce”. Never an apology or anything. She brought the bill and the sandwich was removed. I was okay to pay for the meal, I just wanted something without the tartar sauce. It was my birthday dinner- We originally planned to order the Chocolate Wave cake. But the server didn’t even offer dessert. I was hungry, we left. My spouse enjoyed his food.
