False advertising on price match. We typically have great experiences at Scheels in Rochester MN, but our last trip was very disappointing. We, like many savvy shoppers try to find the best deals before making final purchases. We also understand scheels is usually on the spender side in comparison to other sporting/outdoor stores, but go because they have great quality products which we value. We have used the price matching a number of times and per company policy, they usually send a manager to verify item in price we are trying to match online is in fact the same item you are trying to purchase. Makes sense. We have never had a problem doing this on multiple occasions, in fact other managers have said to us “nice work finding a great deal”, this time the manager was definitely overreaching in the process as his counterparts. First he asked if he could use our phones to verify the price (sure), then he wanted us to proceed to cart and checkout to verify it matched (no problem), and than at the end he wanted the items to match the exact SKU #’s, which like the other 2 steps are new processes and hoops we have never had to jump through. And the problem looking for a SKU is most online retailers do not post them online. All the other times we have ask for price match we have shown the retail store price on item, exact description (type, color, brand, size) etc. At the end all 3 of our price match items were declined because the online retailers did not show the SKU #. We still spent $450 on items we thought were decent value, but going forward we will be certain to look online for the deals before going here as they have certainly tighten up their price matching policy.

Read moreFirst and foremost, I was blown away from the statues at the front. Reading quotes of these two historic figures gave me goosebumps. As I stepped foot inside the establishment, it was quite surprising at how huge it was. Since I wanted a new hat, I went to the left section on the main floor to check out what items they might have. Honestly, they carried quite a lot of brand name products and the hat selection was quite vast. Right as I was looking around, I was greeted by the most friendliest and informative sales associate. He showed me where the hats were, the areas of the different brands, what was on the main floor versus the upstairs. Not even a minute after he had left, I was greeted by another sales associate with a smile who had asked if I had questions and if I needed help. I told him that I was already helped and that I appreciated his thoughtfulness. As I finally got the hat I wanted, I had thought I could pay at the fitting room area so as I was walking there, the first sales associated approached me again and asked if I had got everything I needed and that I pay near the front entrance. As it was my first time, I was quite oblivious to it but I did appreciate the information. At the counter, the cashier was a younger gentleman who also complimented on the choice of hat and we also had a small chat. Overall, the layout was great, the employees were all superb in customer service, and I also appreciated the history lesson with the statues at the front entrance. Read moreWow! This place is amazing. We are in town to visit Mayo Clinic for our annual Executive Physicals. I had never heard of this store. I was looking on Google for a place to pick up some active wear for my husband. I saw this store and he said he’d heard good things. So, off we went. This is right up there with LLBean in Freeport and REI in Seattle. First stop was gear for my husband. Found some great Vuori. Excellent customer service from Steve! Next to pick up some gear for me since we were there and the merchandise selection is excellent. Steve brought us a shopping cart and escorted us to the women’s section with a handoff to Felicia Fenske. Again, excellent service! Felicia Fenske brought me so many hand selected options, listening to my preferences. I found 9 items that I love. Once finished, I mentioned I wanted to look at swimwear. I am a baby boomer and my body shows it. Felicia Fenske helped me find two suits in record time. The variety of clothing and quality of merchandise is amazing. This is a rare find in today’s world. As we checked out, Ashton, the young man who was our cashier was efficient and friendly. Ashton, you are exceptional in making conversation. Thank you to Scheels, Steve, Felicia Fenske, Ashton and every employee who greeted us with a smile today. We are grateful for your service.
