02/12/20: Went to Drive-Thru. Made order. Advised that we had 2 coupons. Pulled up to window. Price "seemed" high so we asked the employee to list the amounts for the items ordered. Employee went to get a lady (who) we assumed was the manager. The manager went over the items and we agreed with the amount being charged. She asked us to pull up because it would be another 2 minutes before the potato wedges would be ready. We pulled up. Waited 3 mins. I then went inside to ask for a drink while we continued to wait. The manager said that the "owner" does not allow staff to give free drinks for customers who have to wait. Okay. The wait continued. Wait time ended up being 10 mins instead of the 2 mins that we were told. When cashier gave me my order I asked for the name of the manager that had been communicating w/ me and also the name of the owner that the manager was referring to. The manager obviously heard me asking the cashier for her name and she blurted out to that her name was "Kelsey". I then asked Kelsey for the owners name and she said that his name was "Harris". ANOTHER CUSTOMER who was waiting on her order then said to me "I love their chicken, but the customer service and the managers are not professional and are rude"... I then agreed with what the customer was saying. Kelsey, who apparently was more focused on the conversation between me and the other customer, than on the food that she was preparing - then once again blurted out that she was not nasty nor rude. Kelsey said that she had been nothing but nice to us and that she even helped when we tried to order the wrong food with the coupons that we had. This information was not true. We ordered what was on the coupons that we had and paid extra for the extra items that we ordered. Since when could you not order extra and pay for the extras??? I then pointed out that we had waited for 10 minutes four wedges that she said would be ready in 2 minutes and that she could not even give me a courtesy drink while we waited. I also said that even Burger King and McDonald's would give you a free drink if they make you pull up. Kelsey then said that it was too many people waiting on wedges and that she was not given free drinks to everybody that was waiting. Please note that for the record - there was only one other person in the restaurant waiting on wedges when I came in the door. The other customer who was waiting on wedges ordered after we did. Keep in mind that we ordered in the Drive-Thru. After Kelsey continued to degrade me in front of other customers by insinuating I was wanting something for "free" (a drink), I explained to her that I had been a customer service manager for an average of 30+ years and that the one thing that you do not do is sit there and go back and forth with a customer when they're not even talking to you. Kelsey then blurted out that I should try working in a fast food restaurant and see what I would do!!!! For the record it doesn't matter what type job you have, employees should be professional at all times. Also for the record - I have also worked at a fast food restaurant and I would never have done what she did !!!! Oh and she did mention that I have had disagreements before with employees there (at Lees) - and yes I have. I believe in "acceptable" customer service. It does not have to be great - just acceptable. Reading over the reviews for Lees, there are some good ones, however; there are several that mention the lack of appropriate customer service. One thing for certain is that when this restaurant was being handled by the parents of the current owners, the customer-to-employee relationships were much much better. Oh and the chicken was okay, but it was not fresh and it was dry. Please accept my apologies for any grammatical errors as I am hurriedly writing this review. and for the record purchasing that drink would have definitely not been a problem. It's...

Food is typically good but the CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. A prime example is my most recent visit where I ordered a chicken strip combo with 2 sides of wedges sliced thin. I know the sliced thin is a speck request which is why I request it at the window and expect a wait which I’ve done at least 5+ times before no biggie. My order is out in 3 mins with wedges that are not only not thin but cut HUGE. There are only 6 which I had 2 orders of wedges. That’s 3 per order big! Bigger than normal. I wait for the cashier to return to the window nothing, blow the horn nothing, well actually 2 employees come out of the back look but don’t address me. After about 7mins the cashier returns I advise her of the huge wedges and she replies “Those just came up He’s not dropping wedges right now” I ask if the wedges I have can be cut in half and redropped she says “let me see what time he dropping new wedges”. Then some guy who I assume is the manager although you couldn’t tell from the unkempt hair and B O comes to the window and asks what the problem is. I attempt to repeat the issue and he starts talking loudly over me and cuts me off to advise “he doesn’t have time for this they are busy (no cars in the lot or drive-thru btw) he noticed the wedges were cut bigger today but he isn’t going to do anything about it because he has a catering today” In the rudest tone I’ve heard from any man. I was going to order different sides until he requested my current plate back at which point I decided the interaction had become far too negative with him yelling and not allowing me to complete a sentence for me to trust anything new coming out of there.
I had a very bad experience that involved bugs on the counter about 15 yrs ago and didn’t eat from this place again until this year under some serious coercion from a friend. The saying rings true when people show you who they are believe them... NASTY all...
Read moreI gave my experience on the inside of the restaurant .... rather than the food. I live in Rock Hill and I usually go to the drive-thru window but this afternoon on a Sunday at 1:30 p.m. I decided to eat in. I got a three-piece meal with mashed potatoes and green beans. The food was excellent. But the inside of the restaurant is another story. I know the restaurant can get busy on a Sunday afternoon with the church crowd. But the owner or the manager should have at least one employee to wipe down the tables. After I got my food I walked over to the dining area and it was mostly empty. I'm not for sure when the last time the tables were wiped down but every single table had crumbs all over them. Apparently the manager on the shift was unaware that they dine- in area was was dirty? I walked up to the cash register and asked one of the ladies for some extra napkins so I could wipe down the table and the chair before I could even sit down! Tell me what paying customer would want to set at a table with breadcrumbs, chicken crumbs and food crumbs all over the table? Oh yeah by the way, after I got finished eating I went into the restroom to wash my hands. The men's restroom wasn't exactly clean either. Excuse me for the long post. But I guess this explains why most people order food and take it out and eat it at home. One positive note: The inside remodeling...
