Antojitos Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Rock Island

Was kindly greeted and got a table right away. Is a small establishment so can get a bit crowded. Waitress was very kind and attentive. Was given chips and salsa right away which I thought were both good but chips a bit too salty. They have fountain and bottled pop/ jarritos. The menu is pretty good. Prices were average. Ordered gorditas and steak with a side of beans and rice. When I go to a Mexican restaurant I have to check out the beans and rice because they are one of my favorites dishes. These weren’t to my liking sadly. They just didn’t have good flavor. The steak would of been good if it wasn’t tough. Coming from Chicago its hard to top authentic Mexican food but this place hits! Had the chicharron dinner, with some barbarcoa tacos on the side and man did it remind me of back home. Wonderful place! Cold drinks, and Great tacos! Definitely could use chunkier salsa, it was a bit too watery, but the chips were perfect. The tacos were flavorful.
