I've seen the La Flama food truck at the Freight House Farmer's Market. I've had the street tacos from the food truck at said Farmer's Market - they're fantastic. I had yet to visit this restaurant location off Elmore, however. What better time to go than the first Taco Tuesday of 2023, right?

I definitely think so, and don't regret the trip in the least. The space is very bright - a few of the walls are painted a simple yellow, one has a simple black and white floral pattern, and yet another has a La Flama sign backed in wood paneling. The furniture adds further color and variety to the space, with standard chairs of red, tables of a light blue, and yellow stools. Add in some strings of lights across the ceiling, and it's hard not to feel a little happy waiting for your tacos.

Not that I had to wait even two minutes. After being seated by one of the waitresses, I quickly placed my order of hard shell tacos. I barely had time to glance at my phone before they were in front of me...wow! I don't think I've had faster tacos anywhere else.

To the quality of the tacos, they were definitely alright. They had the characteristic crunch and flavor of a ground beef taco with the standard lettuce, cheese and tomato. The whole meal was decidedly tasty and filling, especially filling (6 tacos for $10? Oh yeah!).

A highlight of the trip to La Flama worth mentioning separately from the food and the dining space is the bathroom. Not only was the bathroom very clean and modern in furnishings and styling, it had something I've not seen anywhere else in a bathroom: a floor sculpture of flowers. It was unexpected, but I quite liked it after noticing it.

I definitely think I prefer the street tacos to the hard shell. I'm looking forward to coming back for some steak, birria, and chorizo on a return visit, adorned simply with cilantro and onion. Thanks for being...

I guess I was expecting more knowing they’ve been around the QC for a very long time. I decided to give their new location a try and I was a bit disappointed. I had ordered the Birria breakfast burrito and my best friend ordered the steak breakfast burrito. They both come with eggs, cheese, cilantro, onion, beans and rice on the inside but we wanted our beans and rice on the outside because I love to actually taste the quality of the beans and rice in any Mexican restaurant establishment without all the extra stuff.

First the food came out cool to the touch. Burrito was filled with massive cold cheese and eggs and onion. Everything was just cold as if it wasn’t fresh. There was hardly any meat in either burrito as you can see in the picture. The birria burrito you would think would come with the sauce for it but server said it didn’t but we could pay extra to have some. We did say something to our server about the quality of the food and she just said sorry.

Chips and salsa were good though. It’s an extra $2 to have some though. It’s not like most where they just give it to you. But they did give it to us for free because of the cold food with hardly any meat.

I’m going to try them again in the future and will update my review based on that. Mexican food is my favorite to eat and I was just overall disappointed. Hopefully things will get better once they are in there longer and get more...

My husband and I decided to try La Flama for the first time today. We were not welcomed nor greeted upon arrival. We were asked if we were placing an order To-Go which was odd to assume given that it was lunch time and we came in together. We were told to seat ourselves wherever with a flick of a wrist. Our server seemed as if she really did not want to serve us at all. She was rude and short with us. We asked if they offered drink specials (It is Valentine’s Day) so it seemed appropriate to ask, she looked at me as if I asked the stupidest thing ever. We asked what soda options they have she answered in a snarky tone that they have either Coke or Pepsi products and it was sold in cans only. The salsa served with the chips was very watery and flavorless. We decided not to purchase any food. We went to Cabo’s 2 instead where we received excellent food, excellent customer service & shots on the house! I refuse to spend my hard earned money anywhere that I don’t feel welcomed. The vibe was extremely weird, we did not feel comfortable...

Chips and salsa were awesome! 9 out 10 ⭐. . Overall an awesome restaurant with great service, helpful staff, good tasting authentic Mexican food, portion sizes are decent and prices are super reasonable 👌
