We ordered food for 3 people at the Drive-thru. I ordered a Garlic Butter Bacon Cheeseburger and a medium Chicken Bites. When we received our bag, just as the driver said "Do we have napkins?", the employee closed the window and went away. We checked the bag: ZERO napkin (for 3 people!). We had to wave for the employee to notice us and cracked the window open. We said again: "Can we have napkins? They're are none in the bag." and WITHOUT A WORD (of surprise or apology), the employee handed a few and closed the window again! (No, it was not that cold, no wind, and the sun was out!) We took the road again (commuting on the interstate) and we realized my burger was missing!! I tried calling them (because they say that if you call immediately, you can schedule a time to come get your missing item or your refund at your confinience).... I called THREE TIMES. Nobody ever picked up the phone. To top out off, the chicken bites I ordered were DRYYYYY and too salty (I couldn't even finish the third one) ! And the others said they really weren't impressed with their burgers (to put it nicely).
We are so disappointed (and hungry!)! We commute several times a week and usually go to Wendy's, Arby's (for good reasons, apparently!), but thought we'd give Sonic a chance..... Well. That's a fail! Bad service. Bad food. Missing food. No one to help you with issues.
I'm writing this review as proof that I did try to contact them on time, and expect to get my money back next time we come...
Read moreGenerally, I'm a fan of Sonic. A family sized order of Tator Tots is one of my favorite things to get, but this particular store has been less than stellar in my experience.
I've only eaten there twice, admittedly.
The first time, I ordered 2 double cheeseburgers plain and dry, a family size tots, cheese sticks and a Route 44 Cherry Lemon Lime Slush. I got 2 single cheeseburgers with everything on them, tots that tasted like they were overcooked in month old fish oil, cold mozz sticks and a drink that had ice and a little flavor, but no fruit at all. Because I tend to be in a hurry, there wasn't time to complain, just a bunch of food headed to the trash bin and a hungry day at work.
The second time, I was hoping for better. Ordered the same as before but clearly stated meat cheese and bread only on the burgers and added a grill cheese. The food was worse than the first time. Tator tots so hard that I seriously thought I might break a tooth trying to eat one, with the aftertaste of death. The grill cheese was two pieces of white bread with no toasting and a piece of cold, not remotely melted cheese. Even the drink was bad. The burgers were made "right" this time, as far as the toppings, but tasted like they came out of a swamp.
I will NOT be giving this place a...
Read moreGreat little Sonic Drive-in. Although, it's not really a drive-in anymore; the little booths are all turned off, and the only way to order is either with the app or through the drive-thru.
I usually use the app, which works great (except that it wants you to "check in" even though the stalls are all powered down and none of them are numbered). It might be easier to let them know that you're there to pick up the order through the drive-thru? Or just... order through the drive-thru...?
My one and only complaint is that for some unknown reason, they are absolutely incapable of leaving the cheese off the burgers. (I always request no cheese, and it's never not there.) Does the cheese come frozen to the patty? Do they rack up cheese points for every slice sold? Do the laws of physics cease to exist on their stove?? (thank you, Cousin Vinny 💜) Who knows... 🤷🏼♀️ Maybe I just look like someone who needs a little cheese love.
Sigh.
But yeah... other than that, it's a great little Sonic.
*Edit: They left the cheese off!! Holy moley! They said it couldn't be done, but they did it! Here's your 5th star back, Sonic. You earned...
