My wife and I just moved to the area from Westchester and Orange Counties in NY. As new local residents we wanted to find us a new Sunday brunch location. Not sure if we'll be coming back to The Exchange. We ordered Eggs Benedict with my wife's ham on the side being she doesn't eat meat. When we got our meal, she had the ham under her eggs AND they brought her an extra plate of ham. The eggs were all over cooked. All 6 of them between us. The potatoes were frozen, bagged and reheated. No seasoning or even salt. The bartender was nice, but didn't check up on us much. I had to flag her down. The restaurant and decor was good. As newcomers, we didn't feel out of place like some may feel coming to a new local place. Maybe we'll give it another try. But not for brunch.

We stopped in to the Exchange on a Friday night. We were able to get seating right away. It's on Main Street in what used to be a house it looks like. Front porch has additional seating as well. Staff is friendly and answered all of our questions. We enjoyed it that we went back for a second time in the same weekend. Everything we tried both days we went was good! Their Mac and cheese is one of the best I've had at a restaurant in a long time. It was cheesy and not bland. The brisket burger was also really good, but it was a special.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Seems like this place would have a great summer night time vibe. Lots of outdoor tables, great location. Our lunch was ok. I ordered pierogies with pulled pork on top of them. The pierogies were good, but the pulled pork was mushy, like it was reheated too many times or came out of a can. My wife had a crab soup, but very little crab in it. The service was excellent, and they remedied the soup issue immediately. I will try The Exchange again and stick to the more common menu items.

My husband and I have been to The Exchange many times, and it never disappoints. It's a very casual restaurant with a huge menu. Sometimes, that means quantity over quality, but not here. They offer everything from burgers to Mexican to full entrée and they are all excellent, with very reasonable prices. Our latest visit was on Valentines Day. We went for an early dinner to avoid the crowds (and because we are old!). Many restaurants hike up prices or serve a limited menu that day, but not The Exchange. I had a cocktail, we both had appetizers and entrée and the bill was about $80. I had mussels in a wine sauce with bits of bacon for an appetizer, and my husband has beef barley soup. The portions were generous, and both were delicious. Our meals came with salads, also nicely done. For our entrée, my husband had a short rib hamburger, and i had shrimp and scallops over rigatoni. His burger was delicious and cooked perfectly, but my entrée was exceptional. Our waitress, Karen, was wonderful, which added to our experience. She gave us each chocolate chocolate chip cookie and a Hershey's kiss, which she gave to all her customers for Valentines Day. Amazing! If you live anywhere near Rockaway, NJ, give The Exchange a try. You...

I went to The Exchange for a retirement party for a coworker and thought it was a great spot. It has more of a rustic, old school, tavern vibe to it but that works. We went on a Wednesday night and there was live music (which was nice given we and almost everyone else have COVID-19 hangovers).

The food was the thing that really surprised me it was great. I went there not expecting much because I've been to other restaurants that were not so great and expected more. I got the flounder and even though I'm not a big fish fan this was prepared to perfection (almost literally melted in my mouth). My Drink was okay but I got an old fashioned it's really hard to mess that up.

Service was another impressive quality for the restaurant. We had over 10 people that came and there was only one woman helping ( of course the food delivery had extra hands) but she managed to be on top of everyones order. I was pleased.

If you're ever in that Rockaway/Denville NJ area should definitely check them out. Oh and they do have a nice little outdoor seating area that overlooks the main...

Our family recently held a graduation/birthday party at The Exchange. We were very with everything from planning to execution. Carol was great to work with and very accommodating in handling some allergy issues. The food was delicious and plentiful. Karen and Gabe were our servers and bartender that day and we can’t say enough about how great they were. Karen was so helpful and attentive. Many of our guests commented on how nice the party was and how good the food was.

The atmosphere is rustic and open and could use an update but do not let that deter you. The ground level private entrance and restrooms make this a great location if you have elderly guests that are not comfortable with stairs. We were also allowed to come in the night before to decorate since there was not an event going on, that was so helpful. I would highly recommend The Exchange for...
