Love the happy hour specials.
What a difference 2 years makes. I've been there many times and always enjoy the food and service. The food was very good as usual but the service story follows.
On Saturday 2/22 I had quite possibly the worst service experience I've ever has at a restaurant. The place was a little busy but I've been there before when it was busier and still had acceptable service. We sat in the bar area and after being given our menus we waited at least 15 minutes before we had to call the waiter over to take our order. He had taken orders from 2 other tables that were seated after us. I ordered something off the special menu and the waiter seemed confused. He said the specials change daily. I get that but a server should be somewhat familiar with the specials. Perhaps read then when you start?
While pouring sangria some spilled on the table and the server noticed and said I'll get a rag. The rag didn't arrive till our appetizer arrived and we had to ask for it again. The waiter walked to the bar grabbed a handful of bar napkins and dropped them on the spill and started to walk away. I had to call him back so I could order another beer. He left so my wife and I cleaned up the spill and put the napkins in front of an empty seat at our table.
After about 10 minutes I asked if the beer was coming and was told the bartender was making it???. The beer arrived with a thud on the table and a quick stroll away by the waiter.
Our entrees arrived and the appetizer plate and the soiled napkins from the spill were still on the table and there they remained. I Asked for ketchup and my wife asked for bread to go with her pasta meal. The waiter then went to the table next to ours to take their check. When he returned to their table He gave them the ketchup with their change and off he went. The woman from that table saw my flabbergasted look and gave me the ketchup. I commented that I should give her the tip.
But wait there's more
I had to call the waiter over again to get another beer and ask for the bread again. This was about 10 minutes after the first request. A few minutes later the beer arrived but no bread. Again we asked for the bread.
about 20 minuted later the bread showed up with the comment "I guess you don't want it now" as we were clearly done eating. All plates remained on the table.
We had to ask for the check. and all plates were still on the table...
Read moreSo it’s snowing and decided to make it an “easy night” and asked my husband to stop on his way home to Brick 46: we literally live right behind it. I can see it from my window. Ordered a turkey Rueben and when I opened it, it was just soggy rye bread covered in grease and just turkey and Russian dressing. Nothing else that makes the main component of a “Rueben” I called after being annoying and contemplating for several minutes whether or not to call since i knew I’d get some 18 year old who doesn’t really care, answer the phone and wouldn’t be able to do anything to make it right. But I work in customer service and said... I would never be able to do anything like this and get away with it so I finally called... when I did, I got Kelly, who answered the phone. I asked for a supervisor she said there wasn’t one there. After I asked her... “are you out of cold slaw or sauerkraut tonight?” Then explained what was missing from my sandwich, she said... “Hold on!” And then I got magically disconnected! Then I called back and she then again answered. Denied hanging up on me. And then told me I was wrong and “the sandwich calls for sauerkraut” I said... “ok but I didn’t get that either”. She said “well I don’t know what to tell you.” I asked for the managers name and she then again put me on hold, I wasn’t waiting around for her to hang up on me again.. (oh I’m sorry, for me to be disconnected!) So I hung up and decided To take to a review. Don’t expect much from here. If you really don’t care if your order is right or not then this is your spot. Living so close we’ve taken advantage of its convenience but it’s always a hit or miss thing. So hope your next visit works out...
Read moreFresh food, great service. Went there for a quick lunch on a very tight schedule. Great lunch selection. We opted for a couple of large salads (they offer a "large" option for just a few bucks more). Pretty sure they have $5 lunch specials M-F (went on a Saturday). Food was fresh, chicken and salmon for our salads cooked-to-order. Our server, Brooke, was fantastic. She was attentive, patient, upbeat, and even though I know were we completely annoying, she never made us feel that way. She even thought to bring containers before our meals arrived so we could take our leftovers with us to our appointment in a hurry.
In terms of atmosphere, it's a clean bar ambiance inside. They have an outdoor area, too (drinks only). Lots of TVs on the inside, plenty of tables, and you don't feel cramped in while dining. If I'm in the area, I'll definitely go back. And, I'll absolutely request...
