Doc's Diner — Restaurant in Rockford Township

OMG!!! what a fabulous little dinner! I stopped in for breakfast and on the special board was "stuffed biscuits and gravy" (I added a photo) a large homemade biscuit sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich smothered with some amazing sausage gravy with either hash browns or American fries.

Got there about 45 minutes prior to closing (1 pm) time, I asked our waitress about the stuffed biscuits and gravy and when she described it she said if you look toward the window where the food is placed from the kitchen and she said mine is sitting right there. I'm just getting ready to sit out and have the same thing. I highly recommend it. Boy was she on point. The staff was all friendly. Service was incredible. Food was incredible. Docs is one of them joints thats been around the loves park area since i could remember an old fossil if u will like a precious ruby in this dust truffle of a city...a place to go to get out of the rain and sit in a back corner booth and have a cup of coffee and contemplate life and wonder how fast time has went....thinking to ones self man im middle aged. Excellent local diner! 50s/car theming gives this place some real charm. Menu was standard fare for a local diner. I had a burger that was very tasty; fresh beef served on a toasted bun with fresh French fries. My wife had the open face roast beef sandwich which was super delicious. Our son has a Mickey mouse pancake that was yummy. I stole a few bites from both of them. Fast and friendly service combined with great prices (we paid under $25 for all the food and drinks) along with the fun decor makes this a 5-star, definitely-returning experience...
