I went there with my daughter and her family. We all had dinner I had a salad with rotisserie style chicken which was good, more chicken strips and some burgers. Dinner was over $50. We decided to have ice cream too. 4 blizzards and a cone $25. The blizzard I ordered was a very cherry chip. I asked for cone dip instead of the chocolate chunks aka hard shell or aka chocolate covered cherries. After I paid I saw the receipt said fudge instead of chips. I went back to the woman that took the order and reiterated cone dip not fudge. She assured me that the fudge was the hard shell that I requested. The ice cream came out and I could tell that they used hot fudge instead of the dip. I tried to eat it but it was like eating chocolate ice cream and way too sweet for my taste. I took the blizzard back to the counter to let them know that they didn't make it way I asked. I stood there for 3-5 minutes and no one helped me even though 3 employees were standing 6ft away from me. I decided to leave it at the counter, I wasn't looking for a replacement I wanted them to know it wasn't made correctly. I ate maybe a quarter of it. Later I saw the woman who told me that the fudge was the hard shell. She informed me that that's the only way they can make it. Then proceeded to get the manager. A young lady came out and told me that there are 2 dips chocolate and fudge. And they are right next to each other. And could not remake it because I ate it. And wouldn't return the money for it even though I never asked for it. She told me that she's not supposed to argue with a customer and we need to pack our things and leave. Nobody knows how to say I am Sorry any more but everyone is loaded with excuses. I visit a Dairy Queen in Woodstock Illinois sometimes multiple times a week. They make chocolate covered cherries and strawberry all the time. I've been several other DQ'S same thing. Not a problem till Cherry Valley.
My daughter has contacted a manager who seemed to be concerned with the way things were handled. I have received a letter apologizing and thanking us for bringing it to...
Read moreI'm not sure if it is because of all of the changes that the pandemic brought or if it's the ownership but this DQ has gone way downhill. The employees used to be amazing. They were always friendly and helpful to the extreme. Now, there is no longer any friendless. They just take your order and move you along. The last time we came through the drive thru, all of our fries were cold. Tonight, I ate in and noticed two things that detracted from my satisfaction. First, there was no ketchup at the table like there always used to be. I had to ask for packets. Then, I had to ask for more packets because I didn't get enough the first time. Also, the fries were not well salted. That would not be a problem if there were salt and pepper shakers on the tables. But those are eliminated also. I didn't feel like going up and asking for salt, so I just ate my fries as they were. Sadly, this DQ has gone from one of the better fast food places in the area to just another fast food place.
Edit 4/16/23: This DQ continues to disappoint. Went through the drive thru today. The fries were hot, but hardly salted. My wife ordered and was charged for a NY cheesecake royal blizzard. However, that's not what she got. Whatever she got had chocolate chunks and no cheesecake. It's been forever since I left this place satisfied. We usually just go to...
Read moreI’m rating my last experience alone because I’ve generally gotten good service from DQ. In this case however I’ve never gotten worse service. I placed a pick up order through Uber Eats. I picked up the order and went home without checking. When I opened the order I was missing one of the two chicken strip boxes that I ordered. I immediately called back and informed the staff that I was missing part of my order. I was told that I should come back before they closed at 10pm and I said that I was already on my way and would be there with in ten minutes. I got back and told the worker that I picked my order up from who I was and he went to the back for a few minutes. The manager came back and said that she double checked the bag herself and she knew that she packed the order correctly. I lightly pushed back saying that she was wrong in this case. She said ok and went to the back again and came back almost laughing at me saying, “No the order was packed correctly and she double checked with three other workers there. I smirked, said ok and walked out. This all happened between 4:45 pm and now 5:50pm tonight on January 1st at the Dairy Queen on Perryville near CherryVale Mall. If I could have given zero...
