So of course I had to come visit this place as we share the same first name. Plus, my wife wanted to check out the market and car show. I do admit that the market and car show was smaller than I expected, but I still enjoyed it. Everybody is nice and friendly. My wife and her friend wanted a certain wine, in which was only inside at the bar, so the 4 of us (wife, her friend and husband, and myself) decided to sit at the bar in the nice atmosphere. The bartender was extremely nice and very kind. She allowed us to sit at the bar and have a few drinks while everybody else was outside in the heat. When there was no place to sit outside to eat, she also allowed us to eat at a table by the bar area when we asked. Unfortunately we were not able to actually eat at the restaurant since we didn't have much time, but we did try everything else we could. My wife really enjoyed the Italian beef sandwich, I enjoyed the personal 8" pizza, and our friends also enjoyed their pizza. We also did get the bread they sold in the market and it was delicious! They offered tomato, sausage & pepper, and black olive & artichoke. I must admit that I did not try the black olive & artichoke as I do not like artichoke, but the other two breads were fantastic! The group of us that went do plan on coming back so we can actually try the restaurant when they are open and we're all looking forward to it.

If you’re going to Rockford, you know you’re going to need to stop for pizza at the classic Lino’s. They have two locations, and have great takeout service where they bring the food right to your car in the parking lot. We called to place our order over the phone, and the girl who answered it was extremely helpful in getting our questions answered by the chef in regards to what was gluten-free and cow-dairy-free. Updates: the meatballs do have gluten from the bread crumbs and they do not (yet) have goat cheese or vegan cheese, but maybe that will change sometime in the future. They do have gluten free crust available for the pizza and a gluten free pasta noodle available for any of their pasta sauces. They are famous for their pizza, and allow you to split a pizza in half so you can get different toppings on each side. For our group, we went with one half pepperoni and the other half sausage & mushroom. Their classic tomato salad is also delicious and filling, with hard boiled eggs, sausage slices, cherry tomatoes, romaine lettuce, cucumbers, cabbage, carrots, and Italian dressing. For takeout, they ask how many people will be sharing the salad, and then they put all of your servings in one large catering tray. Full of flavor, I recommend always getting a side salad with your pizza for some balance.

Great prices, but not very tasty. I have traveled the world, been to Rome for months on end. Sadly this place is just a cheap American version of the old world. The prices can't be beat but feel like this is a meat market. I guess Rockford residents don’t expect much with their cuisine, it certainly is constantly busy. Issues: 1) Spaghetti was so terrible, small, and bland, even I can make better pasta than this. 2) Chicken dish shown with spaghetti over no sauce. Instead I am given the spaghetti pasta type with spaghetti sauce. This is not expected and no where does it indicate this. 3) Ordered 6-pack of Diet Pepsi. Received Six pack pf regular Pepsi. 4) Called to complain about incorrect order but transferred three times. Nice to finally speak to relative of owner but by the time I had to repeat my concern . . . you know how exasperating that is. Annoying. They offered a credit but not something I want. I certainly don’t want to drive 5 minutes to go back and get what I actually ordered. I really don’t care to repeat the experience either by visiting again. Think I will go to Capri or Maciano’s instead. ORDER Chicken Saltimbocca alla Romana $13.99 Spaghetti Mushrooms $0.75 Roasted Garlic $0.75 6-PACK DIET PEPSI $3.00 Subtotal $18.49 Tax $0.29 Total $18.78

Walking up to Lino’s it has a real Italian feel. We had a VERY large group of over 30 people. Our waitress was incredible. She didn’t skip a beat and all of our orders were on point. From a food perspective I’d recommend the pizza. My husband and I had dishes, personally had the 1/2 and 1/2 pasta, because, Italian! Had the ravioli and gnocchi. When it came it was boiled pasta with a tomato sauce on top. Very underwhelming. My husband had the veal with pasta. He enjoyed his a lot! Both were served with bread and a house salad. I would LOVE to make that salad at home. Wish I had taken a photo to share with you because it was one of the best! And did I mention the pizzas?! They were top notch. The leaning tower of Pisa makes you feel all the Italian vibes in Illinois. Closest I’ve ever felt to being in Italy. Thank you for a lovely evening! One last plug for our waitress, she was so wonderful!
