Wow Rockford I am totally impessed... This was my 1st time visiting your city and East State Street Antiques Mall. I may have just found my new favorite place to visit! I am so glad we stopped while passing through city. Stopping for gas and food I searched online and found about 3-4 different antiques stores all within roughly 40 mins of driving around the Rockford area. Rockford's East State Street Antiques Mall was by far the best stop out of all the ones we visited hands down. They had the largest selection of quality pieces overall in the area all under one roof displayed beautifully. In our opinion the other places were kind of a waste of time. They didn't even come close! Too bad we stopped at this location last and not first. So for those of you reading maybe I will save you the time and drive time. Make this place your first and only stop when looking for antiques or collectables in Rockford. You will thank me later. My favorite was they have several amazing vintage Toy collections and Jewelry to search through which was really fun. Made me feel like a kid again with my husband as well remembered playing with some of the items in our youth.
So when we arrived we were greeted immediately with hellos. Made us feel welcome right away. We were told if we needed anything at all to ask or that they had floor walkers or employees that would check on us and see how we were doing throughout our visit. This place is huge!!!! We didn't know where to begin, but we're excited for the adventure we were about to take. We must have spent like 4 hours in this place looking at all the different items. So many booths and glass showcases with different types of antiques & collectables. We were impressed by the quality and style of all booths & showcases. You can tell the dealers really take pride in displaying their items here. All the booths and showcases were full,.no empty spaces available. This told me that dealers want to be here selling their stuff. The prices were really fair we both felt. I am In and out of Antiques stores all across the Midwest and this is my new favorite by far. In comparison to some of the other local places we visited those stores we felt were filled with alot of garage sales items or just junky quality. Another great thing was the employees would take and hold our items at the front counter for us until we were ready to check out so we didn't have to carry it around during our shopping experience. The employees informed us that the place was under new ownership as of April 1st and that everyone was exciting for some fresh new ideas. They were expecting some new changes to only better what has been going on at this location for over 40 years of business. They informed us that the dealers are constantly bringing in new items and changing up their booths displays. We felt the place was clean and the staff were very friendly. So that is why I wanted to take the time out of my day to write a review congratulating the new owners and wishing them the best of luck in the future. We enjoyed our 1st visit to your establishment. We now love your place and will be making it a point to...
Read moreWhat a wonderful day we had browsing through this amazing Antiques Mall that was filled with many different types of collections all under one roof. The friendly staff told my wife that they have over 115 different booths filled and almost 200 different glass showcases all filled. THAT'S ALOT OF STUFF!!! So I brought my entire family here while visiting Rockford looking for something different to do with the kids and something safe that was Covid friendly. We were so pleased that we decided to visit here that my wife and I both agreed we will be making trips to Rockford more often just so we can stop back to search for more treasures. There was literally something here for everyone and any age group. I loved seeing all the old toys that I had growing up playing with my brothers and sisters. The toys brought back a ton of great memories that I was able to share with my kids. Remembering each item and hearing some of the stories that grandma and grandpa shared with us as we saw different items in the mall was absolutely priceless..... This visit kept our kids intrest for several hours without any of the 3 of them touching an electronic device.. That never happens!!! Each one of us bought a few things to take home. Good thing it fit into our van, just barely though. My wife found some furniture and kitchen goods to decorate the house with, grandma found some knick-knacks and some jewelery, grandpa found some old coins and vintage tools to tinker with, my kids and I bought some amazing toys... What a fun day we had. The employees and staff that were working were very knowledgeable and helpful. They even carried items we planned on purchasing to the front counter for us so we didn't have to carry them around the building with us while we continued shopping. The prices we felt were very fair and priced to sell for the quality of the pieces. Just all the way around an impressive business. It was easy to find. They are located on the back side and lower level of a big strip mall looking building right off a major main drag intown called East State Street. We had stopped at a few of the other so called Antiques shops in town while we were visiting and not one was even close to as cool as the East State Street Antiques Mall location. Most of the other businesses were dirty places, unfriendly staff, filled with junk. Not as many quality items or as impressive. Also not even close to the size... It was like we were at an unorganized flea market or somebody's junky garage sale. Clearly East State Street Antiques Mall is run by respected professionals that truly take their line of work seriously. Either way we were blown away.... We will be back again soon. So my thanks you for a great day! Be...
Read moreAfter a good day of treasure hunting, this was a bad way to end it. My friend and I walked in at 6:30pm. We greeted the woman working the front desk and we’re immediately hit with a snappy “Just so you know, we’ll be closing shortly.” We said not a problem and began walking the isles. After a few trips down and back it was clear that we were being followed by another store employee. We found this odd as there were three or four other people also browsing the store. When the announcement came at 6:45 to bring final purchases; we headed to the front. However, with a few minutes left we were still talking and browsing as we went. We went to look at a case down an aisle and the lady at the front desk yelled, “Boys! We’ve got to go.” Clearly this comment was directed at the two of us and not at the other gentleman in the same isle as us. We just smiled and left. We walked out of the store at 6:52. There were still four other people browsing the store, but because we were younger (20s-30s) the message was clear. Not very...
