This will be my second review on guitar center. But there's a very good reason why :-) I started taking lessons there about a month ago and I was very unsure of how it was going to turn out ..I worked with Griffin..first time simply to pick up a new hobby :-) my time with Griffin was short but then I was introduced to Mark who is my current teacher.. he is very supportive and very encouraging and I need that considering I am 44 years old just taking guitar lessons for the first time just to pick up a hobby. Where I thought at first it might be a mistake ..after working with Mark I think it's probably going to be one of the funnest things I've ever done. Whereas some people I have talked to say that their lessons are expensive.. that may very well be true.. but the support and knowledge that comes from this building is amazing :-) .. you truly do get what you pay for :-)I am all for keeping my business and money in my own neighborhood :-) but I believe even if I didn't live 2 minutes away I would drive across town and pay their prices just simply for the service support and knowledge that I am receiving here. I would recommend these guys to anyone for any type of instrument you may play. Very welcoming environment just a really nice cool set of guys :-) stop over and visit them you definitely won't...
Read moreMy complaint is my guitar had string buzzing, so I took it to the guitar tech for a full setup. I specifically told him about the buzzing and he seemed to barely take notice and seemed kinda busy and flustered with other stuff. Two days later I come pick it up and he forgets who I am and which guitar was mine. I wasn't offended but he should remember who his customers are and their instruments.
I pick up the guitar and immediately notice the buzzing was still there, he didn't fix anything. I just reluctantly paid the $50. I didn't say anything because I needed the guitar that night and didn't want to wait another two days for him to literally do nothing, although I probably should've spoken up anyways, that's on me. The buzzing wasn't a huge deal but it was noticeable and annoying if you played the guitar, it seemed like he forgot what I told him, just picked up the guitar and changed the strings, then moved on to the next guitar.
Overall a poor job. He was very friendly though as the whole staff usually is. I'd rate this store higher for that, but that experience is what warrants the two stars for me. Maybe some of you had a better experience with getting a setup, but for me the tech was forgetful and...
Read moreI have had far too many terrible experiences in the past with this store. I once had to contact the regional manager on Twitter to resolve the pathological lying of their employees. You know it is bad when most of them have no idea how to use most of the equipment there and have no passion at what they do.
They are usually rude and unattentive. The fact that it took them until 2018 to finally add microphone boom stands for desks shows how incredibly behind they are against their rivals such as Amazon. It costs $90 for a mic boom for a desk meanwhile I can buy one online for $20-$30 in superior quality.
Because not only did I seriously overpay for most of these items here they aren't even tested and are never on display. You literally pay double the price here and it isn't even worth the risk half the time. They don't even compete their prices against other retailers.
This is why online video reviews are superior because they actually fully test the equipment. The fact that a good portion of their equipment requires computers to run their software and hardware in which their employees have zero...
