We were given a gift card for this restaurant. We ordered pizzas through their website. The transaction was through a third party called ‘toast’. When i put my payment in i added the gift card, the green words popped up confirming the gift card had a valid balance and was applied to my order. I was only supposed to pay the balance of $3.96. Checked our bank account to see we paid the full $53.96. I cannot imagine this happening to someone who really doesn’t have the money and the gift card had a bigger balance. I would have paid even more out of pocket!! Not only do we not normally eat at this restaurant but the pizza we got gave us all stomach aches. I know it was the pizza because the next day we ate some left overs and later on had another stomach ache. The salad dressing for their special salad was NOT made right, it was literally a cup of onion lemon juice!!! Red flag number one. Then our gift card didn’t go through and they refuse to make it right. The honest way. We asked for a refund on the cash end of our total and we will give them the gift card since we had zero intentions of spending $50 from our bank account. Their gift card/third party website glitched and that shouldn’t be on us. But the restaurant refuses to give us the correct refund, our actual money. For a Rockford Local restaurant, it is sad they treated the situation no different than a corporate facility. They easily could have taken this gift card, transferred the balance to a new gift card and given it to the next person to purchase a $50 gift card, then refunded me my money. But instead they basically said too bad. No morale for anyone anymore. Now i am stuck with the same gift card that had me under the impression was used. I hadn’t eaten there to begin with if it wasn’t for the gift card and both situations will assure you we...
Read moreThere is so much i want to say about this place. I walked in alone one evening, after a long day of being at OSF hospital with my husband that was admited in through ER visit. It was about 8:30 pm and I didn't realized they close at 9pm. As soon as I walked in I was surprised to see the atmosphere and the light and christmas decorations and very inviting. I was greeted by the host, seated and the waitress in toe, taking my order and not a clue that they are about to close until I realized I hear a vacuum going in a room far from mine. Well needless to say she brought my appetizer, she was more than patient with me to choose my diner ... and by now was already 9.15 pm. Upon a conversation with my children and a friend on the phone, ive became very emotional and I could help but cry. It was scary enough for me to know that my life is about to change by the possibility of loosing my husband, and there i was in a place I've never been before holding this people, that don't know me, at work instead of going home to be with their family... that was a reason to be more emotional. When I asked for the check, I was shocked to see that my bill was reduced eith management discount 100% Yes, indeed. That small act of kindness, deeply touched my soul, and makes me believe and hope that kindness and compassion is still very much within each person. I would say more, but I will end up by saying that I highly recommend this place, because not only they are kind and compassion but, the food, is very good as well...
Read moreLino’s has been a part of my family’s story for nearly 50 years. My grandparents moved from Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Rockford decades ago, and my grandma fell in love with Lino’s instantly. When they eventually had to move back to Wisconsin, she was so heartbroken to leave Lino’s behind that she ate there every single day for a month before moving. Even after she left, our family made it a tradition to stop at Lino’s anytime we were nearby. We would even go down to Rockford just for Lino's, if my grandmother was craving it.
My grandmother passed away nearly 10 years ago, but we still celebrate her on her birthday, her anniversary with my grandpa, and the day she passed. This year, for her birthday, we made the 3+ hour drive from Green Bay to pick up our order.
While the food was just as incredible as always, the pickup service this time was disappointing. The line was long, which is normal for Lino’s, but my order was already prepared and frozen, so waiting 20+ minutes felt unnecessary. The pickup staff seemed rushed and a bit rude, with one person short-changing me and another yelling at me to move forward while I was at the front of the line. I’ve never experienced this at Lino’s before, and I hope it was just a rare off day.
To their credit, a staff member came out and offered me a $25 gift card, which I appreciated. Despite the hiccup, Lino’s will always hold a special place in my families heart, and I will continue to recommend their amazing food to anyone, especially the salad, pizza,...
