Pho 815 — Restaurant in Rockford Township

Food is decent, service are terrible! We have seven people, three adults and four kids. server only bring us four utensils with knife for kids. When I asked more utensils and she said how many do we need. I have to explained we have seven people and you bring four and we need three more. Two Kids Order two grilled port sandwiches with no jalapeños but they make with jalapeños, even I took them out immediately, kids still said it was too spicy. One kids Order kids meal beef fried rice. But they give us regular adult meal beef and shrimp fried rice which is six dollars difference. My friend ‘s food pho veg was late for five minutes and he explained chef accidentally packaged it in Togo box. It was not the worst part. I actually didn’t complain anything about the above problems , just want to pay and leave. When I go pay, the server told me one hundred two and some cents, I paid credit card still with 15% tips because I have restaurant business and I understand mistakes happened sometimes. But when I asked receipt, and he said the machine was broke and couldn’t give me it but I can take a picture. So I checked the picture receipt and found out there is custom amount. I kind of confused what was it and I asked the server, he said it was gratuity since we had seven people. I am not happy at that moment so I said you should at least tell me you charge my tip and so I won’t give you double. Then it was the worst moment, the server said they didn’t have to and they didn’t have responsibilities to tell me, it was told somewhere in the menu customer should read by themselves. At last They did give my extra tip back but their attitude make me feel it was all my fault. Even when I came out, the guy still said next time read menu carefully. I answered no next time. I will never ever go back again. Also tips should mention on the receipt as gratuity not custom amount. It is the way to avoid...

My family and I stopped in on our way home for lunch, and honestly was surprised to find a decent Vietnamese place in Rockford open on a Monday, which is a rare find. My husband had pho, and my daughter was able to get a kids size pho, which was a pleasant surprise since normally you don't find kids sizes on Vietnamese menu's that often. I had a banh mi, and it was so delicious. My daughter also had a Taro smoothie, which was perfect. We also shared shrimp rolls, which were really delicious. My husband and daughter were raving on how good the pho was that they mentioned it to the host, and he was very excited to tell us that they prepare the pho broth from scratch the night before. My husband being Vietnamese himself could tell right away that the pho broth was authentic, and not made from canned broth. Price wise, this location was very reasonable compared to family owned Vietnamese locations that are in Chicago. I recommend not believing those reviews saying this location is expensive, cause it was not at all. The host provided really excellent service and exactly what I excepted from a family owned Vietnamese restaurant, which is come in and take a seat wherever you like. My whole family made sure to mention to the host that we consider the location our top 5, and most definitely will keep it as our go-to place to stop to eat whenever we head...

UPDATE: We came and gave it a try this evening. No one was inside besides the woman working and her two children. The children were watching YouTube or FaceTiming, I’m unsure. Regardless, I don’t need your distraction. Food was awful. The pho was extremely fatty and unenjoyable. I had about 3 bites and didn’t finish. The waitress never came to see how we were doing so I couldn’t even complain. She was more focused on her meal she was eating in the corner. No refills for your water here. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. When we got the bill and I complained that it was awful and we only had three bites, they did not do any adjustment to the bill so we were left paying for a meal we did not eat nor did she bring back a container to take home. This place is awful, I’m so disgusted in the owners I could scream!
