I wish I was on the scouting team for hotel hell or something because we've found a winner. I counted 3 signs advising me that only guests were allowed in the lobby which made me feel like there was a problem with vagrants. When you first walk in it seems like a nice place. They have an enormous chandelier, nice bathrooms in the lobby, and fancy new water fountains to fill up water bottles. But once I stepped off the elevator to the 2nd floor I realized that they had put all the renovation money into the lobby. The hall smelled exactly like a nursing home. The wallpaper was peeling, the ominous security cameras made me feel like I was in prison. After 5 attempts I finally managed to get the antiquated door locks to open to reveal that the room smelled worse than the hall. The outlet by the bed didn't work. The beds were worse than a futon. The shower head leaked and sprayed water all over the bathroom. The the shower had a thick layer of pubes and dust on the upper lip where I assume the cleaning lady Maria who left her card under the glass top night stand couldn't see and therefore had never cleaned. The soap was orange sented, the shampoo mint, and the conditioner was vanilla, so I left smelling like the worst fruit cocktail you can imagine. The sink had the hot and cold switched so I burned my hands. The tv channels were all low definition. And I can only assume one of the steps the cleaning staff takes is to dip the remote in pizza because it was covered in a thick layer of grease and crumbs. The 2nd bed was so close to the window I couldn't get to it to open it without climbing in. The ac was so close to the bed that I had to decide whether to sleep next to it and freeze or in the further bed and sweat all night. This hotel still uses a thick comforter top like it's the 80s so you know that's washed infrequently. I literally could go on indefinitely and I haven't even mentioned the "amenities". I would have checked out immediately but I was staying with a group. Very disappointed. Would never wish this hotel on my worst enemies. I can only assume the positive reviews left here are paid advertisements because no one in their right minds would be impressed with where I...
Read moreOn 1/12/18, my boyfriend and I rented room 301. We have stayed here before and enjoyed the comfy rooms, and jacuzzi suites. This time, we were put on the 3rd floor, all the way at the end. The hallway smelled of cigarette smoke, and chemicals. The hallway carpet was dirty. Only one vending station on the floor, at the opposite end of the floor. No change machine for the pop machine, either. And it only took $1 bills.
We arrived to our room. 2 room suite. Not at all inviting or comfy. No carpet and the floors were cold. In the past, we brought a gaming system and there was a place under the tv to sit it and we were able to connect it to the tv. Not this time. We were not able to block.out the light from outside. The heating systems were extremely loud, to the point we couldn't hear room service.
About room service. We ordered food around 7 pm. They said 15 minutes. An hour later, no food. Call down, they said they're on their way up now. Nothing fancy was ordered. Chicken strips, fries, quesadillas and mashed potatoes. Our food was over an hour late, and cold. It had sat under a light, but was cold. We had to warm it in the microwave. They gave us a $10 discount for it being so late, but, we would've preferred hot food. Had we known before she left that it was cold, we wouldn't have accepted it.
The wifi wouldn't work, so we couldn't even get.on Netflix to watch a movie. It was out favorite local hotel. Will never stay again. The newly remodeled rooms are not.comfy, cozy, classy or inviting. We hated our stay there this time.
Worst stay ever. Rooms are not the quality we were accustomed to. Room service also was horrible this time. That's all it takes. 1 bad stay for us to never come back. I no longer...
Read moreHotels location is right off the Expressway, although the entrance/road to the the hotel (along with the surrounding hotels, etc) is not really labeled. The hotel itself is large and located in a well lit area surrounded by its competitors. The average night stay is stated by the attendant to be 129 or 149 (can't recall) per night for a double queen. Although with a little talk, I was able to get the room for the night for 109$... though I find it odd that the next day I see my card charged for over 145$. At any rate... the room is ample room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Beds are nice and clean, with that nice hotel smell of launder...including a remote control for each bed, as they are "sleep number" beds : which is good and bad, regarding your preference. The decor of the room is a moden one, with a a 46-48in Flat panel TV, couch that doubles as a bed, office desk with leather(ish) chair.... and the bath rooms are very spacious for a "standard" room with large granite (type?) countertops. In general this room should reflect the modern/common standard for what we like to expect across the board/experience. As what we'd expect (decor) as luxury 5 years ago is likely more common homes now a days. We were only there overnight, so any of the other amenities of the hotel were not experienced. And... no free breakfast, which I felt this should be standard (as an option) across the hotels. The bottom line - you'll enjoy your clean stay and spacious room. 149$ a night is kind of high but that's likely driven by the area prices. Although it seems steeper when your only there for like 9 hrs total and back...
