(Currently Order was take out, but we have been going here for years.) So I'm not quite sure when it started to go down hill, but some time within the last 7 years. I'm not sure if they got a new manager, Changed their supplier, or all of the above and more...
Going from the top down: You use to get 5pc chicken tender meal for about $15 (but to be fair, that WAS like 10 years ago.), however now its a 3pc for $18.
Their dinner rolls are rock hard and stale. Their sweet bread is crap anymore. AND I think one of the reasons why it IS crap is because they hardly give you any. They aren't moving the bread and they are stingy with it.
I know over the years the flavor of the chicken and the potato soup has changed, so I think their supplier had changed at some point.
But then, the whole atmosphere just seems completely different and dead instead of comfort. Which makes me wonder if the manager has changed.
Their ranch seemed watered down so I'm not sure if they were trying to stretch it out or if they added too much milk.
(Take out) When they give you the "Finxins' " they give it to you in a single container. both cottage cheese, Coleslaw, sweet bread, AND the dinner roll. Mmm... I just love my sweet bread smothered in cottage cheese and coleslaw slurry. (Not.)
What they NEED to do instead, is put the coleslaw in its OWN bowl, but the cottage cheese in its OWN bowl, and then you can have the breads in the container. Note to the kitchen, if you pre portion the containers out with the fixins and keep them in the fridge, it WILL dry the bread out, and MAYBE thats your issue? Or you are just giving "take outs" old bread. I don't know, but it sucks.
ALSO, online ordering- The country fried Steak and chicken don't say they come with cream style corn, I would have much rather substituted that for an extra side of what I actually like. (I got the steak and spouse got the chicken.)
ALSO we live right down the street. Like 5 minutes away. You'd think the shedder melts would still be fresh by the time we got home. I understand fresh food is always better, and getting take out always has a risk, but things shouldn't be THIS old.
The dinner roll shouldn't be hard and dry (old), yet soggy (cottage cheese and coleslaw), the shedder melts shouldn't be luke warm in 5 minutes.
So I'm not sure what has changed. I'm not sure what needs to change to make things better. Your best bet is to go to Denny's if you want this quality for cheaper. OR to Long Horn for BETTER quality, and about...

I used to go to the Machine Shed at least a couple times a month. They had amazing comfort food and a wonderful welcoming atmosphere. I’ve since moved and do not get back to Rockford often. I was so disheartened by how much the place has gone downhill. My son, husband, and I all ordered apps and entrees. I hate to say it but it was all awful. Well, the pumpkin bread, (I think that’s what is was) was very good, but the rest of our food was terrible. My husband got the meatloaf and it was sad and dried out. Or had obviously been sliced long before it was served and the gravy tasted liked canned brown gravy. But I never would have bothered to take the time to write a review except for the drastic undercooking of my porch chop. After eating 1/3 of it I took a closer look and I felt sick, my chop was very pink in the middle. My server agreed and took it back to be refried. She never apologized. The manager did not visit the table, (and there were only 3 tables of guests) she showed no real concern at all. When my food was returned I cut into it and it was still undercooked. I told my server and she said that sometimes pork chops were just pink in the middle and it didn’t mean they were undercooked. I’d love to know more about the science of that. She came back and said they gave me a discount on my food. I got six dollars off of a $100+ meal. Honestly, I wasn’t looking for a discount, but if that is how you wanna apologize to your customer, then comp the pork chop meal. Otherwise actually apologize for the mistake. Have a manager come to your table, have them give you your card and the event that you get sick. Have them act slightly concerned about your well-being. I definitely ate undercooked pork. Hopefully tomorrow I won’t be sick, but the Machine Shed showed literally no concern for my well-being.
I Will...
Read moreSeveral of us were meeting there for lunch we went in and were greeted by a not so friendly "hostess" we asked if they served breakfast all day to which she said "No, but we do have a limited breakfast menu right now" she asked how many of us there we so I told her. She walks us to the middle of the room and asked if we wanted table or booth I said table she puts the menu down on the table and walked away. When I went to open my menu it was all wet, sticky and in need of a good wipe down. We all sat down and after a bit a not so friendly server came over and took our drink order. We tried joking with her but she didn't seem to be in the mood for us and continued her not so friendly attitude. After we ordered I went to the restroom to wash my hands from handling what ever was on that nasty menu and told the hostess she or someone might want to wipe down the menus as there was something on at least one of them however her response was "Oh". The restroom was dirty, littered with paper towels and toilet tissue on the floor and a toilet gross and dirty. Our drinks came and they were all correct and fresh. When she was taking our order we had to repeat several times we were on separate tickets. One person at the table ordered the hot potroast sandwich (like it says on the menu) and she looks at him and says you mean the hotbeef? Our soups came out one at a time and separated by several minutes taking so long we were thinking she didn't hear the second person ask for soup. The onion ring appetizer are not at plentiful as they used to be but the flavor was very good. When our meals were served the potatoes and gravy were barely warm so the gravy was on the thick side. The food was definitely not and good as it used to be in there and the service definitely isn't as good as...
