THIS WAS THE WORST SMITHFIELDS I HAVE EVER STEPPED INTO. I’d like to start off by saying I’m a weekly visitor at the Siler City location. I have seen how a Smithfield’s is suppose to operate. First off, the young lady who took our order began by rolling her eyes as if we were causing an inconvenience by ordering food. She never said one word or circled our order # on the ticket, which is a typical procedure for Smithfield’s. Great start right? Then proceeded to give us the wrong drinks. Once we received our food, I knew we made the wrong decision. The fries were not fresh, hard, and more of brown color from sitting for awhile before being served. The hush puppies were terrible. At this point, I wanted to get out of this place ASAP. The manager storms over to our table, asking us for our check so that she could offer a refund. Once we denied the refund, she attempted to remove the check from my hand. This manager never apologized nor held anyone accountable for their shortcomings. Her response was “we are doing the best we can”. That’s a terrible mindset as a manager. Not speaking to customers and providing old food, is doing the best you can? Who else is tired of these excuses?? It wasn’t about the money. THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL SMITHFIELD'S. This location has managed to ruin one of my favorite restaurant chains. I went through the drive-thru, and the speaker system was clearly not working properly. The employee asked me to repeat my order, then told me to just drive around to the window because he still couldn’t hear me. That kind of defeats the purpose of a drive-thru.
I ordered the shrimp for $13.99, and let me tell you—it’s absolutely not worth that price. The portion was shockingly small, just a handful of tiny shrimp. Honestly, it felt more like a $5.99 item.
To make things worse, I had asked for tartar sauce and didn’t receive any in my bag. I had to drive back around, and the same issue happened again repeating myself at the speaker before being told to come to the window just to ask for tartar sauce.
The staff was friendly though.
The food was underwhelming, and the whole experience was frustrating. Definitely not what I expected...
