Had dinner on 6/20/17. The tamale was delicious but I had green sauce and cheese added to the top instead of red sause, I was charged .75 for the change. I ordered ala carte items and a salad. I also ordered a small guacamole, it was 7.99. All together my bill was 26.00. My issue is I was burning up from the heat outside 107 flustered and my waitress was so stupid she could have saved me half of that by letting me know. I could have ordered the same thing on a combo. The salad was 3.99 for a very small bowl of lettuce with dressing. Not even enough dressing to cover the salad so I had to order extra. If the waitress had had any witts about her or if she was any good I could have gotten out of there at about 14.00. It was 107 outside and no air conditioning it was miserable. The bathroom, however, had great air conditioning. I have never ever paid 8.00 for a small guacamole. Especially in a crappy resturant like Cafe Delicious in Rocklin. The other Cafe Delicious restaurants have always been excellent. Then to top it all off the worthless waitress who could not give the right dish to the right person, even though my friend and I were the only customers in the place. The waitress began talking in Spanish to the cook, who had come and sat in the dining room and was demeaning me and ridiculing me. Little did they know my friend understood Spanish and told me what they had said. She overheard as she was coming out of the restroom. The only reason I gave them 1 star is the...
Read moreThis was our first time here and what a great experience! It was like going back in time and walking into a traditional family-run Mexican restaurant in the 1970s and 1980s. Simple fresh ingredients in a simple, clean and friendly atmosphere. Very generous portions. My tacos were filled with freshly cooked hot shredded chicken, ice cold shredded lettuce and sliced tomatoes and melting cheese. The beans and rice were freshly cooked and very authentic and the beans (clearly not from a can) were smothered with melting bubbling cheese. The salsa picante brought to your table with a basket of crispy chips is mild, delicious and clearly made fresh, and the lightly spicy house-made taco sauce was excellent. My daughter had huevos rancheros and they were probably the best she’s had in recent memory. If you’re looking for a fancy ”upscale” experience with a giant tequila bar, TV screens, loud music, a party vibe and “modernized” Mexican food, this is not your place. If you are looking for a filling homemade old-fashioned Mexican meal in a simple, quiet and clean restaurant, you will not be disappointed. And yes you can get an ice cold Mexican beer (among other things) to go with your food...
Read moreI have always enjoyed the plain but good food here. Lately the owner has decided no one can park in his parking lot unless you're eating there which I understand although when your entire restaurant and parking lot are empty one would think you would lime it if it looked like you have customers. He came out and yelled at me, jot politely but rudely and I explained that I was coming in there later (I was going to have breakfast next door and then pick up lunch for my parents at cafe d after) but he was so rude. I moved my car and went in to apologize and explain that since we are good customers and eat there often I didn't think it was bad to park there. He stated he didn't care and since he didn't recognize me I must not be that good of a customer. I explained that we usually come in in the evening and that the other gentleman would recognize me but owner/manager Miguel did not care and stated that he didn't care if we came in anymore. I told him I thought that n was a careless statement from an owner standing in a completely empty restaurant. While I enjoy their food and the gentleman on the evening shift has always been wonderful I will not be going to this restaurant...
