New Brew Cafe — Restaurant in Rocklin

I decided to try this place on a whim instead of my usual starbs run because starbs coffee is honestly low quality but it's convenient.

First off the place is easy to miss! Which is a shame because it is a cute little shop!

Today the shop was a little quiet (I went in about 830a). I honestly wasn't expecting much as most coffee shops are often subpar.

I did not catch the young lady's name who helped me but she was very friendly, when I told her it was my first time in she immediately offered to make a few suggestions if I needed it. I asked her what the favorite food item was, she suggested the Turkey Pesto Sandwich.

I must say it was fabulous! I find that Pesto is very hit or miss. If you are sensitive to spiciness I would just say there is a small hint of spice to the sandwich, which I found to be a pleasant surprise. The Turkey was fresh and the bread was toasted just right, small crunch but easy to bite into.

The place is very small, so there are only a few places to sit. I would bank on taking your coffee/food to go. I can see it feeling a bit crowded if more than a few people are waiting for their items.

I had a Hot Caramel Latte with almond milk, normally I would get nonfat/skim but they were out. Quite frankly, the almond milk added a pleasant nutty flavor to the drink rather than overpowering the drink. You can definitely taste the quality of the beans. I don't know if any of you have ever smelled Starbs espresso beans but I bought some to start making coffee at home and it smells like feet to me which prompted me to start exploring different beans and places. Honestly, I did not want to handle this situation on a public forum, but since they won’t answer their phone, here we go. This is the first time I have tried this restaurant and I ordered from Grubhub. Delivery was prompt and the driver very personable. I ordered the avocado toast. Requested bacon topping. The bacon was delicious but I had to throw away the avocado toast. Someone had added so much salt that I couldn’t eat it. I tried scrapping the everything bagel seasonings (that I did not request) but the salt was so strong I wasted my hard earned money on food that had to be thrown away. I also ordered a lavender enfused lemonade and got some kind of iced coffee drink instead. Definitely in a blink and you'll miss it location but don't let that stop you! (also the curb is more forgiving than it looks) It's a small operation but feels very much like a place where they strive to get to know you and make you feel welcome. Give yourself 10-15 minutes because they'll chat about life with you while working in your order (likely the same person start to finish). If you miss coffee shops feeling like a home away from home, this is a place you'll love.
