My partner and I were searching for a quick dinner spot and managed to find Taqueria Xintli a few minutes from us. We stopped by and are happy to have found it. The basics: - They have tacos, tortas, quesadillas, sopes, gorditas, burritos, and a few other popular Mexican dishes - They also have natural aguas frescas (tamarindo, Jamaica, horchata, etc) - They don’t have any seating so be prepared to eat in your car or to do takeout/pickup - We placed our order at the window and waited about 20 mins for our food - The lady who took our order was polite and helpful. - They give you one red salsa and one green salsa, the latter is not spicy at all. The red one is spicy but flavorful. Food review: - We got a carne asada sope, carne asada taco, carne asada quesadilla, pollo taco, and pollo sope - My partner got the tacos and he said they had a lot of meat and that they’re well seasoned. He does wish the meat was slightly less salty, but I think that’s true for the meat regardless of the dish. - The sopes also came with refried black beans, lettuce, sour cream and cheese. The masa was thick enough to provide a strong base, which isn’t always the case at other restaurants. The one thing I wish they would improve on the sopes is the amount of lettuce they top them with. The chicken one barely had any which left me wondering if the texture would’ve been more balanced. - The quesadilla was HUGE. I had no idea it would be long. In pictures it’s easy to be deceived, but the one I’ve attached in my review very easily stretched across my lap (and I’m not a tiny woman). Definitely make sure it consider the size when ordering, because you will likely not have room for anything else, if you manage to finish it. I couldn’t finish it because I dug into my chicken sope first. The area for improvement with the quesadilla is the amount of cheese that they put into it. I understand you can’t have a quesadilla without cheese, but they went a little overboard. I couldn’t really taste much of anything else and I wasn’t the biggest fan. I found myself removing some of the cheese to have more balanced bites. Overall, this was my least favorite item from today. - We also tried the chocolate caliente and agua de tamarindo. The chocolate seems to be water-based and has hints of masa and cinnamon, so it’s almost like a chocolate atole, but much darker and less thick. The agua de tamarindo is refreshing and perfectly smooth. You can actually tell it’s made in-house and not from some powder. The tamarind pulp isn’t present in terms of texture, but you definitely still taste it in the drink, which leads for the perfect balance. TLDR; Give them a try if you’re tired of the local Mexican food scene in the DMV. They have authentic flavors and dishes, with vegetarian inclusive dishes available too.

Homemade and authentic Mexican food. Despite coming from a food truck, everything tasted high quality and freshly made to order, without being too greasy or oversalted. The birria is the closest to my homemade birria I have tasted so far. The fresh watermelon juice was good too. Most people probably drive past the parking lot where this food truck is located and have no idea what amazing food awaits them. Don't be that person, and support this local business because they deserve it and you will be very satisfied.

Food was flavorful and large portion. Service was kind. I’ll definitely be going back whenever im in the area. Some people may feel the food is pricey but considering that these are every day folks like you and me, I highly appreciate people who have the courage to make their own path, especially if it’s feeding the neighborhood ā€œa piece of homeā€. Gracias!

Food Truck Review: Xintli

As someone born and raised in Mexico, I recently had the pleasure of discovering a fantastic Mexican food truck that I would like to share with you. Here is my review:

Name of the Food Truck: Xintli

Authenticity: Xintli lives up to its name by delivering truly authentic Mexican cuisine. The food truck is a hidden gem, capturing the essence of traditional Mexican flavors that transport me back to the vibrant streets of Mexico. It's evident that the cooks take pride in their craft, as they showcase the regional diversity of Mexican cuisine.

Tacos: The tacos from Xintli are the epitome of Mexican street food done right. The fillings were succulent, bursting with flavor, and cooked to perfection. Whether it was the tender carne asada, flavorful al pastor, or juicy cochinita pibil, each taco was a true delight.

Salsas and Condiments: The selection of salsas and condiments offered by this food truck was outstanding. From the fiery red salsa to the tangy green salsa, each one packed a punch of authentic Mexican flavors. The pickled onions, radishes, and freshly chopped cilantro complemented the tacos beautifully, providing that perfect balance of textures and tastes.

Specialty Dishes: Xintli also offers specialty dishes that showcase the regional diversity of Mexican cuisine. Each bite was reminiscent of home-cooked meals that I grew up with, making me feel a sense of nostalgia.

Service and Atmosphere: The service at Xintli is friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Despite being a food truck, the staff ensures that customers are promptly served while maintaining the authenticity and warmth of Mexican hospitality. The vibrant and lively atmosphere created by the food truck adds to the overall experience, immersing you in the street food culture of Mexico.

Value for Money: Xintli offers excellent value for money. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, considering the high quality and authenticity of the food. Each bite is a true gastronomic experience, providing a taste of Mexico without breaking the bank.

Overall Experience: Xintli is a must-visit food truck for anyone seeking authentic Mexican flavors. From the mouthwatering tacos to the vibrant salsas and specialty dishes, every aspect of the experience is a testament to the dedication and passion of the cooks. Whether you are a Mexican native or a food enthusiast looking to explore genuine Mexican cuisine, this food truck will undoubtedly leave you satisfied and craving for more.

Please note that my review is based on my personal experience and preferences as someone born in Mexico, and individual tastes may vary.

Xintli offers a wide variety of delicious vegetarian options.

Xintli's standout dishes: huaraches, quesadillas,...

For it being a foodtruck, the food tastes great! I ordered one beef tongue taco and one pastor taco. They were small, but good. Like the reviews say, they load it up with meat and the meat was delicious.

Other than that, not much else to say. There was some sliced cucumber and radish over the taco with a slice of lime. The order took only 5 minutes to make.

I've noticed a pattern though. High rating places usually have great food, but smaller portions and higher prices. Like this here food truck. So be weary with the stars, and just go for what you love! (I also realize I need to eat out a lot less... it's expensive, no matter where you buyšŸ˜”)

All and all, if you don't mind the higher price for the delicious, but smaller portions, then be my guest and head on over! You'll enjoy it.

In a nutshell, It's basically a gourmet-y, resteraunt-level mexican...
