Tasty Crab House - Rocky Mount — Restaurant in Rocky Mount

Been waiting all week to go here and Glad I did. Got the 1 Pound Mild Cajun Shrimp with no head, Corn on Cob, whole Potatoe. Husband got 2 CrabCakes with Fries and Hush Puppies. OMG we really enjoyed ourselves eating...so much that we started sharing each others orders.

BTW....Their Hospitality was very nice and Welcoming. We will most Definitely be going back as this is the BEST Seafood Place in Rocky Mount N.C to Eat in My Opinion. Anyone owe it to themselves to go here and just eat your heart out LOL.

SAT May 8 ,2021- food was so good, we went back today and ordered the same food as the night before, but this time Hubby added whole potatoes and shrimp fried rice to his crabcakes and he enjoyed it. We placed an order to go and went home and threw down. They give you plenty of food to Eat.

Update: 6/3/21 Husband and I have officially made Saturday Nights our Seafood Night to Order Our Seafood and go home to eat, listen to our music and then watch Netflix.

But the food is so darn good We had to go this past Wednesday(yesterday) and order their Shrimp Fried Rice, it was so good. I forgot to take a photo before I even took a bite, but smell of the Shrimp Fried Rice just drew me to dive right in. Even thought it was so much Shrimp fried Rice per person with plenty of big jumbo Shrimps, that we were so stuffed, we had to put some up for later, which was still so darn good and filling.

My visit to Tasty Crab House had both positives and negatives. It's great that the waitress was friendly and that the crab tasted good and was prepared well. You get the feeling of being in another establishment called "Joe's Crab Shack," but there is a difference.  The food is bought out in a bag and, for the most part, is flavor rich despite certain parts that are questionable, in my opinion. However, it's unfortunate that the Cajun style fries were bland, especially considering that the waitress acknowledged previous complaints about the seasoning. Additionally, the issue with providing the proper tools to crack open the king crab legs is definitely a downside. When you are eating King Crab Legs, it's a challenge to get them open if you have tools.

The fact that the waitress cited concerns about customers taking the tools as a reason for not providing enough of them is concerning, as it directly impacts the dining experience. Sharing a single set of nut crackers and scissors among diners is not ideal and can definitely detract from the enjoyment of the meal.

The dining room is decorated in a sea type of theme with monitors spread around the room. In my opinion, they stopped putting their theme out and simply showed an abundance of shows, none sea themed, and as close to family programs were the sports games on two screens.

I'm glad that our meal was delivered to the table in a bag as if I come back it will...

The food tasted great. I don’t like that the corn & potatoes were skimpy & sausage had to paid for separately. I’ve never seen that before at these kinds of places especially since it’s like $40 for a meal. They didn’t bring seafood utensils for the crab when we asked initially (which we shouldn’t have had to ask for to begin with) and the young lady at the front said she’d tell my waitress & just stood there instead of bringing them to me herself. Other than that service was adequate. The bathroom also smelled like sewage, which wasn’t ideal, but maybe they were working on a plumbing issue the weekend we went, so I won’t hold it against them.
