Penn Station East Coast Subs — Restaurant in Rocky River

I just went there toward closing time and they were already completely ready to go, the grill was off, the food trays were already all wrapped up, and the 3 guys that were working were wiping down all of the tables. So when I walked in, there was a comment made about me walking in 5 minutes before close, then one of the guys (pale w/long black hair) wiping down the fryer throws down his rag and walks in the back. Then some other guy (Hispanic looking) walks out from the back, followed by the first guy and a third (tall white kid). They all looked at me like I was the one in the wrong for being being hungry and coming to the restaurant they work at right before close.

What makes this bad is that they were not even able to serve me anything during business hours. I worked in a sub shop for years, the expectation is that you are serving food during business hours. You don't pack everything up and leave the second 10:00pm hits. That's when you should start clearing out the food, not walking out the door.

My advice to these kids working here: Learn the meaning of customer service. You absolutely never give the customer attitude, you never express anger toward a customer, and certainly never turn someone away before the end of business hours, it doesn't matter if it's 9:59:56pm you are there to serve the customer.

My advice to the owner: Find polite kids and corteous employees that know they should be able to serve a hungry customer no matter what time they come in to your store. Otherwise...

Always trust your instincts! If you feel like it's not a good place to eat, then listen to your gut! We walked in..guys just leaning on the counter.. no greeting or anything..feeling like a burden by giving him my order bc he didnt even ask for it. Place feels vacant at noon...shouldve left by now... sandwich was actually decent. As we are about to literally finish our last bite we see something dart across the floor. We just put our sandwiches down and look at each other, like I know that wasn't just a mouse.. the thing was carrying a small cat in its mouth! (not literally) I look over and see an employee cleaning out underneath the pop machine and what do you know?.. a huge rat's nest made out of all the straws and lids and napkins kept under there. I said are you cleaning that out bc of the mouse that just ran across the floor? He said yes and that they've been chewing through the base of the building to the outside and shows us two holes which is where the one ran out. I asked how bad the problem was and if we should worry about getting sick. He just kind of laughed and said no. All in all...i would avoid this place and find somewhere else..Def not going to be eating here again, but if you choose to.. eat at your own risk! Here's to not puking...

On Dec 4th at about 650pm I called rocky river Penn Station to place a order when some girl answered the phone I asked to place a order and she hung up on me. I called back three other times and she kept hanging up on me. So I decided to go up there thinking there phones might be messed up. As I arrived at 7pm I walked to place my order at the register I saw a girl with red hair and blue and black shirt on working with a skinny kid with black hair. While waiting 10 mins to order I heard the girl with red hair say someone keeps calling and I keep hanging up on them. I guess she thought that I wasn't paying attention and I wasn't going to tell her it was me calling because I would rather speak to the manager. After saying she keeps hanging up on someone I heard her say and I don't care i will keep hanging up on people all night. Now if this store is losing money. .. then it's prob because of this girl. I can't believe she had the guts to laugh and say that right on front of me but with her back turned while she was...
