River Trading Co. — Local services in Rocky River

I just had the most pleasant interaction as a consigner and shopper at this store. It was my first time consigning so they walked through their system, explained what to bring back for a different season, and why they turned down a few items. They also carefully folded and put those items back in my bag.

In my experience with places like Clothes Mentor (multiple locations) they are generally just rude, toss items in your bag, and act like you should be grateful they take what they take. Other consigners can come across as very judgmental and I stopped going to them.

While they looked at my items, I shopped and found Ann Taylor slacks for $16 and a seasonal sale with a beautiful velvet maxi skirt for $5. I had fun chatting with two other women as we looked through household items in the downstairs. This is a delightful place to shop. It is full but not overwhelming.

Be very careful when consigning multiple items. I consigned with them and was given an amount my things will sale for. They didn't tell me what was sold. When I asked about my belongings they stated that they donated the things that didn't sale. They told me that they donated all of my things because they thought I wanted them to. The agreement was they were to call me and ask me what I wanted done with my things. I have no idea what they sold. Because I'm out of town I can't prove it. This is hurtful and upsetting. I have been consigning with River Trading for years and recently had a really great experience there. I took in a designer purse, and thought I had gone through everything before consigning and then I received a phone call from Kelly at River Trading. She told me I had left $30 cash in the purse. I am so appreciative of their honesty here. They had the money in an envelope for me when I came back in. Thank you River Trading for being so upstanding and honest.
