Best Chinese food in Rogers Park… Hands-down! I would say best Chinese food on the north side! They accommodate all special requests and the food is always piping hot. I order from here all the time and will continue!!

My dog loves this place! He says its very good food. He has also told me they scammed him out of his money once but still love to go there. My dog is very cool thank you.

Very reasonable prices. Food is excellent. Orange chicken has real orange peel. Meat egg rolls are better than veggie. Happy Family is also great.

Disclaimer: there is undisclosed pork in some dishes! Including shrimp w lobster sauce. Other than that… Great spot to get your takeout fix if you’re craving Americanized Chinese. Not all places are created equal (far from it!) and this one is super solid. They have delivery for $4, so no need to pay more for UE, GH, DD, etc., just order off the restaurant’s website. Delivery was fast; takeout is even faster. Lunch & dinner specials are under separate tabs in the menu so look for those bc they are CHEAP. Crab rangoons were solid, no complaints. Pepper Steak, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, Kung Pao Shrimp, and General Tso’s Chicken were all great, nice and saucy. Large portions with plenty of rice. Kung Pao Shrimp has just a little bit of a kick to it, which enhances the flavors rather than overpowering them (as it should be). Same with General Tso’s Chicken. This place was recommended to me by a friend in the neighborhood and will likely be my go-to takeaway...

I've only had shrimp fried rice from here so far, which has tasted just fine to me.

Though today, the egg rolls in my same order made my partner pretty sick a couple of hours after he ate them. I did notice that they smelled a little weird as he was biting into them, but I thought it was just me imagining things. Thankfully I didn't eat them.

My shrimp fried rice seems to be fine. It tastes alright and I haven't felt ill yet.

I also ordered the orange chicken, which looks pretty delicious. I was excited to eat it since another reviewer mentioned it being made with orange peel. I will not be eating it out of caution.

I'm going back to cooking my own dishes when I get a craving for Chinese...

LET ME BE CLEAR

If you want to talk about where your good local Chinese place is, this is it it. It's little shacks like this in tiny parking lots. There's another Chinese place nearby that I won't name but it's all flash and no substance.

China Spring gets you China Sprung (compliment). You walk in and see a busy kitchen, a mess with labor and hard fought battles of oil, YOU ALREADY KNOW WHERE YOU'RE AT, this is your classic local Chinese restaurant. I won't hear a negative thing about it. The people are very nice, in that classic way that's too busy cooking to talk but you absolutely have to respect it. This is my regular now....
