DON’T SUPPORT THIS PLACE. I don’t normally write reviews, but decided to after my experience. I had a similar experience as a previous poster.
I’m black and I came in with my son and cheerily said, “Good morning!” There were two women in there: one restocking some pastries and the other at the cash register. The one near the pastries just turned her head away. I looked the one by the register in the eye and said, “Hi.” And she looked like it pained her to say “hi” back. I gave her a hard look and she looked down. Now if I were on my own, that’s the point I would have walked right back out because I am not interested in giving my business to people who have some unspoken problem with me, but my 2 yr old son was begging for a cookie. So I picked a few items from the sparse selection and just went to pay at the register.
The two women started going back and forth in Spanish and finally gave me the total. I gave the woman at the register cash. My change should have been a couple of dollars with some coin change. While she gave me the bills back, she did not give any of the coin change back and walked away after closing the register. I stood for a while waiting for the change until I realized she did not mean to return it. Now, I mean, I heard there was a coin shortage going on, but to not give customers their change is pretty bold. I guess they’re Covid-desperate here.
Anyway, rude, nasty and petty... yeah 3 strikes: You’re OUT! And to make matters worse, the cookies had NO flavor (honestly, they just tasted like lard, flour and sugar). The bread might be great (I didn’t try it, but that’s what most of the reviews seem to talk about, but everything else that we bought SUCKED!!) We threw them out right outside the store.
Garbage bakery items, served by garbage...
Read moreI just go there because my young kid likes to get a donut or cookie from there sometimes & I brought some for my nephews 2nd bday on Christmaseve. I've worked in the food industry & it would be better & more sanitary if they cleaned the trays & tongs after each use, especially during covid, or had people use disposable gloves. They're reasonably priced, but they're not labeled with a price, so you just get what you want & expect the unexpected when you go to the counter, so it wouldn't be good if a homeless person went in there with limited cash, got to the counter & didn't have enough. The first time I went was when a friend took us after we got our kids from school & although the prices are good, the employees weren't much help because we only know English, which is why it would be a great idea to label things because she couldn't understand what we were asking, such as ingrediants, gluten or prices. I've never tried the bread because I don't eat much bread but the bread there looks so hard. Maybe I'll try it though one...

Conchas are fantastic, but they do have a wide selection of other great things... There are little mini cheesecakes that are fantastic, homemade donuts, and cakes that are super great. Everything is hearty and...
