The tacos are great, and their salsa and refried beans are delicious. Got the milanesa this last time though and it tasted like old oil. The waitress charged me twice and so I went there with a screenshot of both final charges as proof to speak with the manager to get my money back. When I spoke to the manager, Marcelo, he explained he had to talk his boss about it in order to issue the refund and took a picture of my screenshot. Understandable. I gave him my contact info and he assured me he would call me in a couple of days. A week later I had to call him and he explained he needed to see the charges. Again. Between that phone call and then a follow up visit the same day to show him the Two final charges in my account, Again, and to finally get my money back, Marcelo said everything he could to indirectly imply I was lying. As a manager he handled the situation terribly. I'm sure he thought I would let it go which is why he never attempted to contact me to follow up. Then when I didn't, he made me feel like I was full of it for requesting my money back. I did get my money back. Before I left I made it clear to Marcelo that I did not appreciate his insinuations. Too bad he couldn't handle the situation as a professional. I would tell people about this place all of the time. Not only did they lose a customer that promoted their business to others, but now I share my terrible experience with others whenever El...
Read moreI called to make a phone order after looking at their menu online. I saw that they had ceviche, but they didn’t specify what kind so I called to make sure it had shrimp. They confirmed they had it so I asked for a small ceviche. I assumed it was gonna be the price that was online of 695. I pulled up to pick up my order I was greeted and I let them know. I was there to pick up a ceviche. The gentleman rang me up. I did not look at the price. I just tapped my card and paid while I was signing I glanced at the amount and I noticed it was $30.95 that was charged to my account. I let them know that I wanted a small side of ceviche and the online the price is $6.95 and the guy just smiled said that the price had changed I I asked if they can take some of the portion away as that’s not what I was planning on spending or if they can honor their among prices, not the customer’s fault that that obviously has not been updated in a very long time and he just kind of shrugged and said no and said sorry didn’t even try to involve a manager or some kind of alternative solution for me so just be very careful when ordering online or by check those prices.
This was my first experience with them and I do not believe I will be returning as the customer service was just not there I do not mind paying for good food but the experience was just infuriating and...
Read more(4.5) My new “go to” for authentic Mexican food! For me El Cuñado combines elements that make for a great Mexican meal; an extensive menu, table service and most important, great food. El Cuñado has great tacos but their dishes like the Molcajete, Huarache and Agua Frescas set it apart from taquerias or the Tex-Mex chains. The Molcajete was delicious and large making it well worth the $21 price tag. It’s like a meat buffet in a stone pot with chorizo, chicken, steak, shrimp, green onion and cactus simmering in salsa. I’ve had versions that looked more appealing but this one is one of the best flavor-wise I’ve ever had. A few negative reviews had me confused. Observations like poor service or salsa not made in house were far from our experience. In fact they served three terrific fresh salsas with chips and rinds. We had two different servers check on us. Both were excellent. They were friendly, knew the menu and were bilingual. While most everyone in the restaurant spoke Spanish, we never felt out of place, it only confirmed the authenticity of the menu offerings. For those that have eaten in this location during its time as an Indian restaurant you’ll be amazed at how nice it is inside now, completely...
