I’m not a guy who leaves reviews ever, much less bad ones, but my experience with Kent has been bad enough that I feel the need to warn others. The multitude of positive reviews convinced me to choose Kent as the jeweler for my fiance’s engagement ring. We found a design she liked, and decided to go with it. First, the ring had to be recast, which happens sometimes so we didn’t think anything of it. Then, the side-stones that you can see in the photo were continually loose no matter how many times we brought it in. This eventually led to us loosing a stone (see attached photo), which caused Kent to tell us that they don’t recommend aquamarine in this ring, and they said that they should’ve told us that in the first place. Since we couldn’t have known the problems that would arise from this, they offered to replace the side stones with diamonds for free, which we appreciated, but the main stone was still having problems. We had gone in to get it tightened before, as it was so loose it rattled, and they told us that should be expected. Who the hell says that your main stone should be LOOSE? They agreed to tighten it, and it was fine for a while, until they replaced the side stones. Whatever they did in that process caused the main stone to become loose again, and they once again tried to tell us that that is just how rings are. It should just be loose and rattle. Now, I don’t know much about jewelry, but basic investigation into this instruction shows that this is absolutely not true. Additionally, we intend to go to a different jeweler that’s actually competent to fix this ring once and for all, and I’m sure they’ll tell us that Kent is just straight up lying to us. But the nail in the coffin for our experience, aside from my Fiance being reduced to tears multiple times by her ENGAGEMENT RING, which is of course the exact opposite experience you’d want for this thing, is the disrespect we got every time we walked into that store. They treated me, and especially my Fiance, like we were stupid. They told her that she shouldn’t be checking her stones, as her tapping them could be what’s shaking them loose. If my Fiance TAPPING the stones with a FINGER is enough to shake them loose, how is she possibly supposed to wear this ring for the rest of her life? This, combined with the dismissive attitudes, on top of them telling me that the main stone is supposed to be loose has well and truly convinced me that these new owners have no idea what customer service is or what they’re doing. I strongly encourage anyone looking at this store for their jewelry needs to go...
Read moreI have an old Fossil brand watch that I've had for years (nothing fancy because I'm notorious for misplacing my items or my little girls want to wear my items and misplace things on my behalf). The battery died and I searched forever around my town looking for a jeweler to replace the battery - NOBODY will touch this brand ! I called Kent Jewelry and the staff member was extremely friendly and guess what ?! They replace the batteries for my watch! This jewelry store is about 35 minutes away but I made the trip there. It's easy to find with plenty of parking. The store itself is very inviting and open. I took my watch to the front and browsed while the battery was being replaced. It was nice not having a sales associate on top of me trying to push items off on me or suggesting things to me.
My watch battery comes with a one year warranty, the staff was just as friendly and inviting in person as they were over the phone and I found a few pieces I love that I will certainly be back for when I'm planning for the occasion. Oh! And something very cool .. they have a jewelry stamper machine where you can create your own hand stamped jewelry to personalize it. I had a great first...
Read moreA few months ago my home burned and I lost everything including my wedding ring. I knew where I had left them and as soon as I got permission from insurance I started sifting through the ashes praying that God would let me find it. After sifting through many feet of ashes I found this lump of what I hoped was my wedding ring stuck between two coins. Badly damaged was not even close to describing how bad it was. I took it to Kent Jewelry to see if there was any way to make anything from it. They were so kind and understanding and said they would do their best but honest enough to not make any promises. There was so much "stuff" melted in with it. A few days ago I got a call...they had my ring ready! I would gave been happy with anything since it was as all I had left from my husband. My ring was so wonderfully beautiful! So much care and work to make anything out of the lump of "stuff " I left with them. The tears still come everytime I look at it! Thank you Kent Jewelry you are...
