The sign on the door showing birria was very enticing so I decided to try this place for dinner after my workout. It’s right in the center of the outside mall across from the Christmas tree. When I walked in around 6pm there was only one family there but a few people were coming in for pickup. I ordered the quesabirria and the fuego taco with asada. It took about 5 minutes to get my order. When the lady Mariela brought the food, I noticed there wasn’t any salsa or Birria sauce in the side. I’ve never had a birria taco without the Birria sauce. That’s the whole reason I ordered that taco. When I asked her where was the sauce, she said did you want sauce? I said yes and can I get salsa too. She said red or green and I said both. She looked a little perturbed that I said that which is weird because don’t most people want salsa with their Mexican food? Lol. The family waiting for their take out heard our interaction and made sure to ask if there was salsa in their bag too.
The quesabirria was good and hit the spot. I really should have just had that. First off it’s cheaper than the fuego taco and it tastes much better. The fuego taco with asada was not good at all. The asada was way too salty for my liking. I used all the salsa and had to dip that taco in my birria sauce to make it edible. I asked for a spoon and once again Mariela seemed annoyed with me. Maybe she was just having a bad day but she never thanked me, checked on me (the only diner in the restaurant), or said bye or anything when I left…not even a smile. Even though the quesabirria was good, her vibe was bad.
All in all I wouldn’t come back here or recommend this spot to people at my Equinox gym nearby. There’s so many other spots in the area so next time I’m in Rolling Hills Estates, I will...
Read moreHonestly, the food is good. My only problem is that my favorite dish (Surf and Turf Fries) currently says one price on the menu 13.99 and they charge more than the menu for just the item 14.99. I have brought it up to their attention the last two times I went and they haven't fixed it and didn't adjust my price to match. It makes me a bit uncomfortable at this point. This being the third time in months, I don't think I'll return. Nothing against the food, it just doesn't sit well with me that they aren't addressing it in any way and continue to charge more. I'm pretty sure there is a California BPC Section against charging more than advertised or posted, but I'll just avoid the place and let whoever feels the need to address it further do so. I'm not petty enough to report such a thing, but also not going to continue to support a business that doesn't feel the need to charge posted price. Hopefully, the right person will read this and change it, because 4 employees that I know have acknowledged it haven't been able to...
Read moreThe food was great, the service was not.I don't blame the restaurant, sometimes you just get bad workers. The worker was very rude, like they were close to closing and she didn't want us ordering. When our food was ready, she simply put it in the counter and went back to the kitchen and never said a word. We turned around and saw it there and hoped itnwas our food as she had disappeared. I've never had that happen in all my years of ordering, really...
