Ladies and gentlemen, if you're seeking a place where creativity, community, and history intertwine, then look no further than the Palos Verdes Performing Arts Center. This isn't just a performing arts center, it's a beacon of culture, a hub of imagination, and a testament to the enduring power of dreams. Stepping into the Norris Theatre is like stepping into a time capsule of rich history and vibrant performances. With 450 seats, each one bearing witness to countless tales of passion and artistry, this theater stands as a beacon for the performing arts in Rolling Hills Estates. The story behind its creation is just as compelling as the performances it hosts, with Joan Moe's vision and the tireless efforts of the community giving birth to this cultural cornerstone back in 1983. The Harlyne J. Norris Pavilion, a 14,000-square-foot special event facility, is another jewel in the crown. Offering class space, a scene shop, a catering kitchen, and a multipurpose room, this center accommodates an array of activities, from performances and rehearsals to community dinners. Its versatile design, including one hundred-six pullout theatre seats and excellent acoustics, make it an ideal 'black box' theatre for any type of performance. But what makes the Palos Verdes Performing Arts truly special is its dedication to education and community outreach. With an education program that draws 1600 students annually, it's not just a center for performance, but also a cradle for nurturing young talent. The planned Education/Conservatory space, set to open in July 2023, is a testament to their commitment to shaping the performers of tomorrow. This center is more than a venue - it's a living, breathing entity that thrives on the support of individuals, local businesses, and volunteers. Each ticket sold, each facility rented, and each donation made, contributes to the ongoing success of this remarkable institution. In essence, the Palos Verdes Performing Arts is a standing ovation for the power of community, creativity, and dreams. It's a place where the arts are celebrated, talent is nurtured, and community is strengthened. Five stars aren't enough to encapsulate its brilliance - it's a shining star in its own right, deserving of the highest accolades. So here's to many more years of success, growth, and awe-inspiring performances!

We have seen several shows and for the most part enjoyed them. Last year we saw the Broadway singers who had superb voices. Unfortunately, there were several numbers where the band, specifically the electric guitarist and drummer who drowned out the singers. At the break, many patrons expressed similar thoughts. We came to hear Broadway singers not good local musicians. We are going again this year and praying that the Arts Center hears this cry. I have shared these thoughts a few times on their site with no response. Their lineup and program is overall quite good. They just have to take control of their musical production and performers. Actually, I am begging them. We have enjoyed several plays....

I went to the Cabaret Jazz show Sunday. I do not drink. But the other people at my table, #8, were very upset at the price of the small bottles of wine. They were increased from $20, which was almost an insult, to $30. Someone really should not be so carried away, or greedy, what ever you call it. Otherwise, the show was good and the food...
