Carmalita's Catering Company — Restaurant in Rome

So I saw a menu for this location online. So I decided I would call my order in. so I could just walk-in and pick it up... ( I was sitting in the parking lot) So I called, no answer. So I walked in. There were four people there but they were all sitting eating. The two staff members were standing at the counter talking.., I waited for them to direct me where to go to order... No one said anything so I asked is this where you order...The young lady replied no and pointed me where I should order and the other lady said hello. So I order what I see on the online menu for Wednesday. They didn’t have some of the stuff that was listed on the Wednesday menu online. Turns out they have another menu that they write out each day on the inside of the store so I ordered from that menu... Fried chicken wings cabbage macaroni cheese and cornbread... they do cook your fried chicken wings fresh so it took about 25 minutes to get my order... which was fine with me, I like fresh, So after eating my food I must say that the macaroni and cheese was delicious and my lemonade it was super awesome.... my chicken on the other hand I like it to be cooked longer it was still wet at the bone and far as the cabbage and cornbread I’m hard to please.,. Private event for 60 catered on the evening August 5th, 2022, in Rome, Ga. Carmelita's was scheduled to arrive for prep at 5pm for meal service at 7pm, the crew arrived at 6:40pm and was not ready to serve until 7:30pm. The food was less than mediocre. The yams were canned and swimming in the canned juices without the spice flavorings you would expect on yams. The Red Velvet cake was dry. The sweet potato pies were bland, again lacking the expected spices for flavor. The pasta dishes were thrown together, again lacking flavor, the mac and cheese was tolerable, and the greens were good. I did not hear any complaints about the salmon, but folks commented negatively about the fried chicken. The peach cobbler was terrible, with peaches and dough (nearly raw) thrown in the pan, room temperature. I was not expecting perfection, but I was expecting a good, hot meal. There are no excuses that would make sense of this culinary travesty. All of the access and contacts needed for venue support were provided to Carmalita's. Needs adult servers who actually care about serving. I was placing my order and overheard one of the boys taking an order over the phone and was put aback by his demeanor. He clearly did not want to be there. My smothered chicken was delicious but it was cold. We waited over 30 minutes to receive our food and still hadn’t received our drinks. We asked one of the servers TWICE for our drinks and still didn’t receive them until after we got our food. Had to ask for utensils after we received our cold food.
