We had reservations at 530 pm for 6 people. When we got up to the hostess stand the lady said all that was available was bar seating or outside seating. I asked her if I could glance at the outside seating but to hold the 6 open bar seats, she agreed. It took 30 seconds to glance outside. It was too hot. I came back to the Hostess stand to tell the lady we would take the bar seats. She was MIA. A lady behind me in line heard her say earlier that only bar or outside seating was available, so she sent her husband to the bar real quick to grab seats. When the hostess/manager, whomever she was came back, I explained what happened and that we wanted the bar seats she had said we could take earlier and she said well you will just have to wait. Meantime, a nice guy that didn't even work in the restaurant but that worked in the hotel helped set us up at a round table, a hightop made for 4 people. Jordan was his name. We waited 30 mins for a server to even come to our table. Jordan greeted 5 tables, made waters for each of them in the time it took her to come to our table. All she did was take our order. Jordan did everything else, kept our drinks refilled and all. It took almost an hour to get our dinner and even though the food was delicious, we already had a sour taste in our mouths from the experience we had. We had 15 mins to eat our food to make the 7pm show we were attending. A show that had been planned for months. Off Broad should have been better prepared for the crowd they knew would be in the area. If the lady at the hostess stand was the manager, she needs to work on her attitude towards the public. Also, don't give an option on your website for reservations if you won't honor them! Jordan, if you see this, you are phenomenal! You should be the one in charge! Thank you for all of your hard work! I will add that I worked as a server for 7 years in a very busy, upscale restaurant. I know how difficult the industry is, but what we experienced was a combination of poor management, planning and...
Read moreI have always had good experiences at Off Broad for dinner, so we decided to give brunch a try today for a friend’s birthday. It was a terrible experience. The waitress told us they couldn’t serve several menu items. That was disappointing but not a deal-breaker. After an hour of waiting for our food, we asked for an update and she told us that the cooks had not shown up and her manager was having to make our food. She apologized and said she thought we would be able to entertain each other until it came out, but that it was almost done. Keep in mind we were one of only two tables in the whole place. When our food finally arrived, it was terrible. Several of us had ordered the breakfast bowl that they had posted photos of on their Instagram page. What we received was a bowl of cold French fries with cold eggs, cold bacon, and brown avocado on it. This apparently took over an hour to make. I asked why it was fries and not the potatoes that were advertised and was told “it is the same thing, just cut differently.” Well, it isn’t. I know what fries look like. I am really not a complainer and never send food back, but I politely told our server that I was not going to eat it because it’s not what they advertised and it was cold. All of my friends’ food was just as bad. Thankfully they did not charge me for the food I didn’t eat. I do feel bad for the server because it wasn’t her fault. But if you do not have the staff to operate the kitchen and make the food in the menu, you should not have the restaurant open. We would have happily gone somewhere else. We were all very disappointed and...
Read moreThis was an absolute pleasure! We went to another local place for food and was greatly disappointed...stopped by Off Broad for dessert and drinks and it completely saved the night. Our server Sindy was excellent, and the atmosphere was very comfortable and peaceful. Drinks and dessert were FANTASTIC. We'll definitely be back for "real" food...I suspect it'll be just as good!
UPDATE: I will leave my 5 star review...but I have to mention a poor experience we had on another occasion...a rehearsal dinner. We scheduled the dinner with management months ahead of time, and while everyone seemed to try their best it was not a good experience. We waited well over an hour (being generous) for our food. The kitchen was out of a lot of food as well. It was borderline embarrassing based on how we raved about the place to our guest ahead of time. Off nights happen but it's just frustrating when we communicated months ahead. This is still a favorite spot of ours, but beware if you're having a large party/event. I'd look elsewhere for that...which...
