Honeymoon Bakery — Restaurant in Rome

Ordered 18 assorted jumbo cupcakes to use for dessert for Christmas Eve dinner. Ordered and prepaid for them about 4 days before pick up. Got to the bakery at 11:00am on the day of pick-up (Christmas Eve) ... very busy....and VERY slow service. Got my order, which was boxed and taped/sealed shut (2 boxes, one large and one small) When I got home (Cartersville) I opened the boxes and had 8 jumbo cupcakes and 16 assorted min-cupcakes. ??? There was NO explanation at the bakery that what I was taking home was different than what I paid for or ordered. I assume they ran out of what I ordered and just substituted multiple mimi's to make up for the 10 jumbos I was missing. I called the bakery 4 times after discovering this and the phone just rang and rang and no one picked up Called until their published closing time ... still with no answer. I didn't leave a message ... I wanted to TALK to someone! Needless to say, I was very disappointed with the order, and the lack of concern on the part of anyone there to inform me of this substitution. In addition, the cupcakes didn't seem to be the same quality as we've had before..... especially the mini's -- very dry and the frosting was like they were made a few days beforehand. Our 18 guest were NOT impressed with the product from this bakery and I don't think they'll be telling positive stories about Honeymoon Bakery. Personally - I paid around $72 for cupcakes for a special Christmas Eve dinner with friends and family --- and probably could have just gotten cupcakes at Ingles that tasted better .... and they probably would have TOLD me they were substituting my order with...

This was my first visit to Rome, and my first time trying HoneyMoon Bakery. They have an incredible selection of cookies, gourmet cupcakes, as well as exquisite, small decorated cakes and gelato.

I had arrive near the end of the day, thus I was able to take advantage of their Bogo on cookies and mini crème brûlée's.

I ordered one of their chocolate walnut chunk cookies and one of their crinkle cookies. Both cookies tasted fresh and very flavorful. They were slightly crispy or crunchy around the edges and super soft in the center.

I also tried one of their mini chocolate cupcakes. It was packed full of concentrated chocolate goodness, which was so extreme, yet good, that I ended up taking a slight break in between bites.

The shop has the look and feel of an upscale, professional bakery, and there are plenty of tables if you'd like to sit down and enjoy your sweet purchase.

The staff was friendly and welcoming. As a new customer, they took the time to graciously answer all of my many questions.

I would definitely consider returning the next time I visit Rome, and I would highly recommend you try this one-of-a-kind bakery too.

When planning your visit, keep in mind the bakery is closed on Sundays and Mondays. They are open late until 8 PM on Fridays and...

EDIT: This place has absolutely went above and beyond!! Saturday morning I received an email regarding my review i’d previously written. They offered to remake my cake so that I could have it for the photo shoot. Unfortunately I did not have time that morning before hand to pick up so I told them it would be okay. Shelbi texted me as we were getting ready and let me know she was in the process of making the cake and would personally deliver the cake to me as a replacement. I cannot say thank you enough to Ms. Shelbi!!! She truly went way out of her way to make this right and I am forever grateful!!! Thank you so much for the amazing cake and for being so great!

This is the cake I ordered verse the cake I was actually given. This cake is for my son’s first birthday photo shoot so these are pictures we will hold onto forever. When I made the order I even asked the girl for a “muted yellow” not a dark yellow for the smiley faces. The faces look like my child did them! I’m so very upset about my order.
