Mellow Mushroom Rome — Restaurant in Rome

Last night was the worst service I have ever received at a bar, by far. I ordered a drink from the bar and gave them my ID. I am assuming that since it was an Indiana ID they had to take it back behind the counter. When the manager came back she asked for my address and I gave it her and took my ID back. From what I understand, when I took my ID out of her hand I grabbed it forcefully with an attitude. She then said, we are not serving you any drinks. I was, by no means, acting drunk or sloppy. I certainly did not intentionally disrespect the bartender/manager! I am a frequent customer and I have usually enjoyed my time at Mellow. Later, a friend bought me a drink and the manager ran over to me and proceeded to yell at me in front of the whole crowd. It was very unprofessional and embarrassing. She cornered me in a booth and I felt incredibly threatened. I didn't do anything to warrant that kind of reaction. I do understand that can fake IDs are a serious problem for bars in a college town. I asked them to call the police and scan it to prove it was real! I am very disappointed by the way I was treated and it seemed to upset many of the other guests in the bar. As a student, I have been living in Rome during the school year for about 4 years and I have come to accept that the bartenders at Mellow just aren't as friendly as Darkside (next door). We went in just before lunch . Over half the seating open. Moderately bussy if that. We were seated and ordered a medium pizza and our drinks thinking a hour would be time for us to get that and make the tattoo appointment. After 30 min our drinks were empty and no one had checked on us . They were more worried about the people who came in after us . We waited 5 more min and started to leave cash for the drink and leave .As soon as I pulled out the cash we suddenly had 2 waiters . They finally refilled our glasses and told that the pizza will be out in 6 minutes. It wasn't the people that came in after us got their food before we did and I got ready to leave again . I started to Mark out the ticket because we were going to leave without the pizza and then just like magic they showed up with it already in need to go box we asked for when they refilled our glasses. The girl didn't charge us for our drinks so I let that be her tip paid for the pizza and left after nearly an hour for a medium Pizza. If you're going to eat here with a large party it might work out better because they are obviously more focused on taking care of only what they think is going to get them a better tip . Don't go in there with just two people . The pizza we took home must have been made very quick because it didn't have any dough on the bottom of it in some places in the cheese just sat there and burned. But the place looks great . I went with my son on a Saturday night, so of course they were busy. We were put on the list and said it would be 15 minutes. About 35 minutes later I noticed the people that came in after us were being seated.. so I asked the hostess how they were being seated before we were and she looked down and she said oh we called you but you didn't answer.. keep in mind my son and I were sitting right in front of the front desk.. and my phone never received a text or a phone call. So after getting aggravated with her we were sat down and we placed our order. Simple enough my son ordered tater tots and macaroni and cheese. All he got was tater tots, the lady that brought it out wasn't our waitress and when I asked her about the macaroni and cheese, she just looked at me and walked away and never came back. Several minutes later our waitress was coming by and I asked her if she put in the order for the macaroni and cheese.. she acted surprised and said oh my goodness you mean they didn't bring that out? After telling her no she went back and got the macaroni and cheese and brought it to the table by that time my son was full from the tater tots. The only positive experience I had in this place was the fact that they didn't charge me for that nasty macaroni and cheese. Needless to say my son and I will not be coming back to...
