Edit: decided to try this place out again as I had a craving for ramen and I saw that they had added several items to the menu. Very happy to report that the quality of the food was better than last time- I did the lunch special with the gyoza bowl and three of the bao buns - shrimp, pork, and spam . Overall bowl was tasty, although the broth could have used a little more seasoning, and had a slight bitterness to it. Noodles were as last time, very good texture. The gyoza had great flavor. I do wish they would give you more than half an egg. The spam bun was delicious, and easily the best bite out of the meal. The shrimp bun only contained two shrimp and the flavor wasn't there. I threw away this item. The pork bun was passable. Overall a very good value for lunch, I will definitely be getting this bowl again as well as the spam bun. Tried this place out on a whim as I love ramen but haven't been able to find a reliable source since I moved here. Unfortunately, this ramen was not the best. We ordered the classic shrimp miso and 3 Rivers varieties. The miso is the one pictured below. The shrimp was cooked well, but the broth was overly salty, and everything was served at best luke warm. Hard boiled eggs and broccoli toppings were both served cold. The tonkatsu broth on the 3 Rivers was bland, and also luke warm. Chicken and pork toppings were dry. While the noodle cook was good, the toppings and broth were not enough to save the bowls overall, and neither one of us finished dinner. Also, I know they're new and probably still working on getting everything together, but the menu was extremely limited - some sort of appetizer would have been greatly appreciated. We won't be returning, but we wish them all the best of luck- the staff was very nice.

Soft open weekend. Limited menu. Let me start by complimenting these folks on doing all the needed things right. The atmosphere was simple. The staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Ordered exactly what you should order when trying out a ramen place. Tonkotsu. I mean, that is what true Japanese ramen is. Pork bone broth, cooked down for hours to create a rich and luscious broth as the base of those perfectly slurpable noodles. It was delicious. The pork belly (Chashu) was prepared with excellence. It was tender and flavorful. The broth was not overly salty as some ramen places are known to do. And the toppings were simple. Ramen is Japanese comfort food…it should be simple. And Roman Ramen delivered!! The star of the show however was the Shoyu Egg. They call it a jammy egg. There are few ramen places that take time to marinade the egg. You get a medium hard boiled egg in broth. That’s not Shoyu! The last place I’ve had a proper Shoyu egg in the US was at Morimoto. (The original iron chef Japan) Rome scored big with this place. It’s different, but not so different that it will shock the palettes of our locals. It’s unique to our community in the best way. I’ll be a regular here for sure. Welcome addition to our downtown! If you are looking for authentic ramen, this is not your place. I got the tonkotsu red and I have some notes. 1. The "jelly" egg aka softboiled egg was cooked well and had some level of marination which was good. 2. The actual broth was waaaaaay off. While I understand it's supposed to be spicy, there was virtually no pork flavor at all and it was so overpowered by the spice (which just gave the taste of cheap Sriracha). 3. The pork was tender and had a decent flavor but was dry in some spots which gave much more of a deli meat pork taste which was off putting. 4. The noodles were on the overdone side but not bad. Overall if you are looking for a noodle bowl place it's ok, but a ramen place you need to go somewhere else. The staff was friendly and welcoming and I agree with all the other comments about helpfulness, but I won't be coming back. There are better options (perhaps not closer) that will give you a much better idea of what ramen should taste like and it will be cheaper.

Was very excited about this place opening for a really long time, and looked forward to eating there regularly. However, the food quality was terrible, the atmosphere bland, and the prices ridiculous. For example, the noodles are no better than what you would find in a cup of noodles you could make yourself. Chewy, stick together, and no flavor whatsoever. The broth is worse because it is too oily for Japanese ramen, and tastes like nothing more than slightly flavored water. The toppings don't really make much sense as they're not traditional, but it doesn't really matter because people are always welcome to try their own thing. The meat, especially the chicken, was dry. The pork was overly fatty and way to thin. The average price eating here is about $14, and for the quality explained this is over the top and insulting to better places with cheaper prices. The atmosphere is like walking into a thrown together set of cheap tables and chairs. There is no personality to this place at all. Overall, if you're looking for a traditional Japanese ramen experience with quality food and fun atmosphere, you're better off just cooking your own on the stove, and watching your favorite TV show. Will never...
