I had two different extended stays there within a months time span, I stayed for about 3 and a half weeks. I have to say being a veteran and having stayed in hotels all over the country I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms. I am extremely picky about cleanliness in hotel rooms and I take cleaning supplies with me all the time. I usually have complaints about finding dirt. On my first stay there was no dirt anywhere, even around the sealing on the mini refrigerator and behind the microwave. Usually those are nortiously dirty. I felt at ease that I could lie my head down in a clean room. My main complaint about my first stay was the power went out very early one morning and the hotel does not have any back up generators. That's unacceptable. I am a visually impaired person and for me to be on the second floor in the dark is terrifying. I feel that they should have compensated their guest in some form for that, but they didn't. I should not have to ask for it. My second stay the first room that they assigned me to was a little surface dirty. They immediately changed my room. That was not a problem. But they changed me to the street side of the hotel and that carries with it lots of traffic noise in the morning. It was late and I was too tired to change again. The breakfasts were wonderful. Especially the prime rib fried potatoes... Yummy! One thing they need to keep in mind is not everyone eats pork so try not to have a whole breakfast menu full of pork leaving those that don't with nothing hot to eat. They have smoothies, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed juices and a variety of many things to choose from. The housekeeping staff was a joy to get to know and they did a beautiful job! The front desk was very helpful and friendly! I would have given them five stars if not for the generator incident and the many days of pork breakfasts. All and all its a beautiful hotel! I would highly recommend anyone to stay there. I will be there the next time...
Read moreOn behalf of my wife Mary, my oldest son John, his bride Katherine, my younger son Peter, his girlfriend Lauren, my parent's Fred and Judy Mohrmann we would like to thank the ENTIRE staff at the Hampton Inn and Suites Rome, GA
We came down from NYC to Georgia for my sons wedding and "y'all" made us feel right at home. What's important is not only a clean room, comfortable bed and a good breakfast but a competent caring staff.
We did not book a room for my parent's the first night of there stay and Nicole made sure that this happened. She checked on some unconfirmed reservations were booked but not confirmed. My parents were put in a very comfortable suite and made the wedding that much more enjoyable.
It was raining one night we got to the front desk to discover we were all going to be getting wet. We were all handed umbrellas to borrow from the front desk.
The front desk had a cork screw when we needed to open a bottle of wine, hair gel when my hair was a little unruly microwave popcorn when we had the munchies.
The next night we had all 12 of our guests from New York from hotel's all over Rome to meet in the lobby at the Hampton Inn to regroup for a night on the town. We were offered bottles of water and use of the sitting area next to the lobby. Nicole overheard us planning a trip into town of Rome for dinner so she called the free shuttle service solving our parking problems to the restaurant.
So those bad reviews from the self proclaimed micromanaging critics about a dirty tolet seat or a human hair in the shower should remember there in a hotel that house people and its people who manage things as best as they can. I think a simple call to the desk would have solved the most simplest issues around the bathroom.
Thank you Jeremy, Nicole, Cori ,Jennifer, at the front desk and Marty in the breakfast department for a job well done!

Read moreThis hotel will withhold rate change information against corporate policy to scam you out of your money. Do not stay here I booked with a semi-flex rate for 3 nights ($565) and called to ask if I could modify the reservation the day the window ended. The person answering the phone said yes, confirmed I wanted to take off one night, and then hung up the phone. I called back, no answer. I never received a new confirmation number, never was told there would be a rate change, and was never told what the rate change would be. My original confirmation number was not updated to reflect any changes. When we checked in we gave the credit card and were told the hold was higher than the reservation amount because of incidental charges ($765). We were assured when we checked out those charges would be removed. Still did not receive any updated rate change. On day of check out, we learned that our total for 2 nights was $634! I've been in contact with the general manager, who has been dismissive and absolutely no help. I filed a complaint with customer service who escalates it to the hotel; never received any return contact. I called again and was told by a customer service manager from the corporate 888 number that Hilton's policy is that any rate changes are provided to the customer in writing. However, the issue has to be resolved with that specific hotel. There has been no accountability on the hotel’s part for not informing me of the rate change or updating the original...
