I have a 5 year old and one of his favorite things to do is to go eat McDonalds and play at the Play Place. I visit many McDonald's in the area with a Play Place regularly because of this. I visited this location 2x in 1 week. First time placed my order and explained I wanted to dine in. My order was rung up to go. I then asked the cashier if I could be given a number and they could bring my food to my table. At other locations I don't need to ask, they automatically give me a number. The cashier apologized and gave me a number. I went to the play area. 15 mins later someone brings my food and apologized for it taking so long. She said she had no idea I was waiting for my order, they had been calling my order number to pick up at the counter. Clearly, this location does not have the expectation to bring orders out to the dine in customers as other locations. While there I observed and never saw any orders being delivered to tables. I was there for 3 hours. Also, no one ever came and cleaned the seating area in the play place. When I started eating my sandwich about half way thru I noticed it was missing bacon. Which I ordered and paid extra for..I took my sandwich back to the counter and told the manager. She said she would need to charge me for the bacon. I explained that I already paid and showed her my receipt. Maybe I'm just more inclined to providing great customer service when I service others so I expected to get a new sandwich which I would've happily given the other one back. But no, instead she handed me a side of cold bacon in a container.. after all of this, said to myself maybe this was a one off bad experience. I understand things happen. Went back a week later, this time closer to closing time. Again was not given a number. I asked again for my order to be brought to me. I was a given a number. I had a heavy backpack with me and was given cups for my drinks. I'm now carrying my 2 drinks, backpack and number trying to open the door to proceed to the play place and wait for my order and a team member comes running behind me saying here is your order. How in the world was I supposed to carry all that? No tray, nothing. It defeated the point of receiving my order at my table. Lastly, when it was closing time, I watched a team member come to the play area to close it down. He didn't sweep a thing on the floor. Didnt wipe not any tables and they were all dirty. He just put the chairs on top of the tables. I'm sorry but Mcdonalds is a huge company and puts great attention it seems into creating processes for a good experience and atmosphere for its customers. It's unfortunate that those ideas are not carried out by the employees. Most of my interactions were with managers. I won't be back to this location. Will have to travel a bit further to either the Joliet location...
Read moreI teach special education in a self contained setting. My job is truly my passion. I not only love what I do, but I LOVE my students. I spend 9-3:30 with them Monday through Friday and there are very few things I wonât do for them. Advocating and being their voice is one of those things I do for them. My school is in a suburb of Chicago. We had planned a community trip to the pumpkin patch on Halloween, but the weather did not allow for that. My heart broke thinking about how sad my students would be. I decided to switch some things around and go to McDonalds instead. At McDonaldâs the students work on skills we teach in the classroom. Some examples would be ordering food, waiting in line, and parking lot safety. When we got to McDonalds the manager was so rude and told us that if we wanted to come eat there we should have called and asked them. Side note- there was one other person in the restaurant. He then rudely told us that if they wanted kids meals it would take them at least 45 minutes. Again side note- I had ten kids. Itâs McDonalds- shouldnât they be able to accommodate 10 kids meals without making children feel bad for showing up? The man continued to be rude not only to us, by also to the other employees. I was in shock. If you have a child with autism or work with children with autism you know that letting them play in the play land and then trying to explain that they have to come sit and eat after would be near impossible. We spent our entire time waiting for them to make kids meals. I felt awful and the kids trip was ruined. Not to mention they over charged most of the children for extra drinks. I contacted McDonalds many times. I kept being told someone would call me back. The only person to call me back told me she was sorry for my âperceptionâ of what happened. I am sick to my stomach that a company so large and well known is okay with this treatment. I still have yet to hear from McDonalds or at least anyone that actually feels that this behavior isnât okay. Please share in hopes that someone from McDonalds cares and helps...
Read moreI would like to start by saying the food is good, and the employees are kind.
That being said they are consistently unable to put my order together correctly. It varies, but usually food is either missing, or flat out the wrong order. I've gotten home with Happy Meals without nuggets or fries in them.
Edit: For the millionth time (it happens a lot) I have taken my kids for happymeals there only to get some random old toy and not what is new or advertised. I get it some times you run out, but this seems to happen often. Nothing is worse that having your kids ask to go so they can get the toy all the kids at the playground have only to get some stuffed hand toy from the emoji movie. The movie is 2 years old and no kid wants to play with a stuffed hand. What a disappointment.
Over all I want to like the place, it's close quick and the food is good, but take the time to check any takeout items as more often than not the...
