Update: spent much time at this Dennys gave it 5 stars after spending hundreds of dollars. I went in for my Dennys reward from the app asked what items qualify for the rewards they didn't know asked what I wanted I said how about like a country fried steak as I almost always order that. Then they said ok but after fussing with the computer said that it didn't qualify for the rewards which didn't surprise me so I asked what did they said they could do a grand Slam I said ok. They told me to pick a table I brought the menu with me so I could order more than just my rewards so I decided on an apple crisp for dessert and went up right away to order because the menu said order asap because it would need time to bake. I went to pay for it then the cashier said well it came as your rewards so now you have to pay for the grand Slam. I told them if I was to pay for a meal I'll pick something else because i only agreed to the grand Slam because it was part of the rewards. I canceled the grand Slam then went to order a 20$ dinner meal but when the waitress came to take my order she brought me the grand Slam instead and said the manager who was cooking said I had to eat the grand Slam and he wasn't taking anymore orders. I respectfully declined being forced to pay for and eat something pushed on me when I was wanting to order nicer meal instead. I asked for my apple crisp and I'll be on my way then when the manager seen that I refused to eat the grand Slam he said I can't have my rewards either (there was no minimum purchase for the rewards). He told the waitress he wasn't taking anymore orders. I confirmed I couldn't have my rewards, I couldn't order my 20$ brisket meal, and he wasn't taking anymore orders and she said that was correct. I asked his name it was Jeff he was the manager. I was calm and respectful the entire time even though it was confusing why the manager was acting like that. The manager was definitely high on drugs and out of his mind. The waitress seemed humiliated by the way the manager was acting. I happily took my money elsewhere and will definitely never bring my family or friends in there again especially no children I'd hate for my kids to get overdosed on the feyntenal or whatever drugs that cook/manager was high on, it would likely kill a child. Now I know that's a bit much but I'm not one to cause a scene so I graciously walked away without saying anything more but I will be leaving a review everywhere I can I will be calling corporate. 😒 I would give it no stars if I could and I will not be going back there. I had drove 40 minutes to dine there I'd rather drive 2 hours to the next one then go...
Read moreI just moved here to Roseburg and after a hot miserable day of unpacking, grocery shopping was the furthest thing from my mind. I don't know the area and don't know where any good places to eat are so I thought I would stop into Denny's, always a known reliable restaurant elsewhere in the world, at least in my experience, until this time..... First off walking up to the door the sidewalk around the restaurant was dirty and sticky... Seriously? Do they not have a hose? But I tread on with a trusting mind thinking that the inside would be different. Walking up to the front doors the windows and glass on the door where smudged and filthy, not to mention when I touched the door handle to open the door it was slimy with whatever mysterious substance that could have possibly made it greasy. You're probably wondering at this point why I didn't walk away. Well, I'm a trusting soul, trying not to be judgemental, possibly this could be an off night I thought, but this is when the truly haunting experience began, and yes, I still have nightmares from this place. Inside the doors was an obvious homeless man sleeping on the waiting bench like he lives there, the floor all over the restaurant was covered in food bits and pieces of paper, and most disturbingly of all it looks like all of the vinyl on all of the chairs and booth benches have been brutally attacked by an ax murderer and appear to have been ripped up for years. It was like entering the beginning of a bad horror movie. So I sit at the bar and order a chicken salad to go, my favorite at every other Dennys restaurant. Although the waitress who tended to me was very nice and attentive it appears that this restaurant only employs meth users, and I don't mean recovering users either, but full on users. The only shred hope that this experience was going to go well in any way was that if the food was good. Sadly, when I got my chicken salad home and started eating I had to pick out wilted brown peices out of it. As you can guess I will never ever go back there and will warn anyone and everyone not to go there, unless you like hepatitis or ecoli, then go for it, but I won't chance that again. I'm not angry as I write this but sadly disappointed that my first night here was eating somewhere I...
Read moreAs I pulled into the lot, I thought the place might not be open. I knew I'd not pulled in properly but was attempting to make call to secure lodging. Was confronted by employee that came up to car door as I was on phone telling me if I was coming in I couldn't stay parked as I was. I was partially in handicap stall with handicap plates on vehicle. When I concluded call moved my van to back of building parking between 2 vehicles. Went into restaurant that had very few customers. Walked over to low chairs at counter and was about to select one when I was asked question by a person. I asked it be repeated as I didn't understand. I was being asked if I was there to gamble. Mind you this was my 1st time in that restaurant. I voiced back wasn't this a Denny's food restaurant? Didn't realize it was a gaming parlor. The person became angry at my statement saying there was a sign saying wait to be seated. In my attempt to explain I've never been asked at any other Denny's throughout WA or OR to wait to be seated at the counter he kept cutting me off without listening. I was hot, sweat dripping down my face. I just needed to sit down and order food. He clearly wasn't in agreement. We both said words which resulted in my saying I should probably just go to my hotel. He said yes as he didn't need to be spoken to so rudely and told me to leave. He went to the back of the restaurant - the other server ignored me completely. I stood waiting to be seated for several minutes then sat at counter chair again waiting for service. He eventually came back out and I was able to order my coffee and meal.
I didn't know Denny's had gambling at restaurants in Oregon. Yes my voice was a bit louder than I usually speak , however, I didn't use any bad language or words to him.
I feel my encounter with that location was totally out of character with any other Denny's I've visited. I can see why they looked closed with no cars along the original side I stopped at . I know it is a location I will attempt not to visit again.
The server name on the check...
