The library itself is in good working order, its clean, large selection of books and the employees on staff were nice, helpful and seemed to be enjoying their respective jobs and eachother. I gave 3 stars because this library doesnt serve the entire community equally. The library card is free if you live within city limits, but this does not include near the golfcourse or out garden valley rd, even though these are roseburg adresses and only 3 to 4 miles from city center. Unfortunately housing prices are very high, and many of our community members live outside roseburg and make the commute into work everyday from areas like sutherlin, winston/green and Oakland. If you live in these lower income places, its $60/year for a library card or $15/month. Seeing as education, reading, and learning should always be available for children at no cost, it really startled us that the prices are this high. We went ahead and paid the $15 for a month, checked out about 8 books and will proceed with the $60/year so we can continue reading. Check out is 3 weeks, and you do get to check out a large quantity of books, books on tape and other materials at the same time. Im dissapointed this library isnt available to more folks, however, if your on snap benefits (food stamps) there is a waive...
Read moreGood library, amazing staff. Well organized. Unfortunately, the books they have mainly appeal to teenagers and old people, with not very much for people in between.
They should consider keeping more of the donated books, rather than selling them out online to the richer communities!!!
Books I would love to see more of:
Dungeons and Dragons books, both vintage and modern.
Books on modifying automotive and powersports engines (NOT just service manuals)
More of the old Timothy Zahn star wars books.
More up-to-date Books on programming neural networks (A.I.) and the mathematics behind them.
I am not a videogamer, but I have friends who would be very interested in the Nintendo Video game guides by Prima, specifically for vintage and retro games. This would attract a lot of gamers in the 20-29 age range to read books more.

Read moreGood selection of books, DVDs, online resources and periodic activities for various ages. Getting a library card was easy (I got a transitional one without proof of address which I was told was good for 3 months; then got the regular one). I always enjoy the murals, the selection and, since I live in the area, the location. There is an EV charging station. The only cons: Sometimes the Men's room is between cleanings, and the parking spaces seemed small - and I have a crossover that isn't big. But overall, having seen quite a few libraries around the country as a result of moving around due to work, I'd say it's a very...
