Two-Shy Brewing — Restaurant in Roseburg

I was in the area after driving down from our home in the Columbia Gorge to take my mother out for her 93rd birthday. My brother-in-law suggested we visit Two-Shy Saturday afternoon. Danielle did our pours. I ordered the "Ella" and loved it! I mentioned that I had lived in Europe for many years (Czechoslovakia now the Czech Republic) and still worked there, via my consulting business, visiting at least twice a year for extended periods. After a fun conversation I asked to purchase a case of Ella knowing I made few visits to Roseburg. Two-Shy makes an excellent Czech style Pilsner which I liken to the Czech, Krusovice 12, one of my favorites. I am not a beer professional but am a beer lover and can't count the many Czech, German and other European beers I have tasked over the past 26 years as I have traveled extensively throughout Europe. but I know what I like and I like "Ella." Well...

I really enjoyed this place.

The fact that you are served by one of the owners makes it seem much more homely and legitimate. The owners are clearly very interested in their beer and will chat away to you about them. I love their beer selection (I am very partial to a German or Czech beer) and welcome the fact that it's not 17 slightly different IPA's. The Ella is fantastic and the Hazelnut Heff is very unique (liked it but couldn't drink a lot of them).

I considered taking a mark off because they don't do their own food and have a food truck outside - but the food truck is good (it just limits your choice) and I salute them for deciding to focus on the beer instead.

The surroundings aren't exactly picturesque, that's true - but they make the most of it with a covered patio, and then a few tables outside in the sun.

Amazing selection of beverages, kid and dog friendly, plenty of seating from I door to outdoor covered or open outdoor seating. Propane heat lamps for cooler weather, too. Guest food trucks throughout the week. We came on a Saturday, and we're graced with Burgers and Q! Definitely will hit this place up if we're in the area again (drove from an hour north to the fairgrounds). Ooo, I just noticed the corn hole set up in the grass next to the outdoor seating.
