I recently visited Moe’s on 3/12/23. Upon being seated at the table, a fight broke out at the bar immediately after we began to look at the menu, the argument was regarding someone changing the television channel, and it went downhill from there. It was unclear as to whom instigated the altercation, but it is believed to be between an employee and the individuals from the birthday party. Amid the commotion, I did enjoy the soup as my appetizer, afterwards the seafood platter and the snow crab legs as well, which you get 2 for lunch or if you order dinner you will receive 4 pieces. I did order from the drink menu an alcoholic beverage, "city manager" which I found to be very refreshing and was the perfect infusion of sweetness and tequila, although I didn't have much of another choice as I don't like a cranberry base (too tart) and usually makes the drinks taste weird that should be adjusted on the menu. As if the fight at the bar wasn’t enough. The employees kept yelling in the dining area and using profanity. Then after the police had arrived to remove the rowdy crowd, the whole ordeal gets rehashed again at the bar as to what they would’ve could’ve and should’ve done, but in reality let’s be realistic by saying the amount of people at the bar versus the amount of individuals at the party the bar would’ve been overcome almost instantly by the birthday party group, so to reiterate and fuel the fire was very immature as they wouldn’t have made it out before the police arrived. Our waitress was very frazzled and forgot a lot of the items we ordered, such as but not limited to the 2 salads, and the substitute for the clams and the oyster for both orders of the seafood platter were forgotten undoubtedly. Which I was very disappointed, because I have been to other Moe’s locations and to have ordered a seafood platter and only had one piece of whiting, three scallops, and three shrimps….. If you are familiar with Moe’s you know that someone definitely messed up that order, because if I substituted the oyster and the clam…. Where is the substitute? Only three pieces of seafood each aside from the fish, it doesn’t make sense to refer to that as a “platter” on the menu if that’s how your order is received to the table. All things considered I give every restaurant a fair chance, and although our table was missing ample items we ordered, the fight broke out, the profanity from the employees. I wouldn’t be opposed to giving the restaurant another chance. If I don’t have concise communication, am I really receiving optimal customer service? If you didn’t remember or forgot, you never came back to the table to fix the mistake, and that I can’t accept, because we spent a significant amount of money to...
Read moreI WILL BE AS HONEST as possible. 1st our waiter she was amazing. She was so sweet. She was the only waiter there at the moment. An she kept moving nonstop to make sure everyone was enjoying food. If I could give just a rating for service I say 5 perfect stars. However the food , better yet the side dishes and appetizers were the let down. Main seafood dishes such as the Crab cake which they are known for was perfect. But the other appetizers and sides were really bad. Had to let the waiter take food back twice because it just was not good.
The calamari was fresh but the fried batter was tasteless. Even with salt and pepper it was tasteless.
The mash potatoes were not to fresh. Also it was a little bit on the loose side.
The fried fish was not to good. The oil you cam tell was not fully fresh at the moment.
Fries were very oily but had taste.
Crab dip was the worst. After 1 taste I wanted to throw it back up. I came with a group of 5. An each one taste the Crab dip an we all agreed the cream cheese was to over powering in the dip. It was not alot of Crab added. But its called Crab dip. However the over powering cream cheese took over. It also had no seasoning.
Lastly the Brocooli and cheese was also horrible. I asked what kind of cheese would be placed on broccoli. I was told nacho cheese. I was already nervous to try it when I heard the broccoli is covered in nacho cheese. However I figured it should be OK. Actually it was the opposite. I had to spit it out. The cheese was something other than nacho cheese. If that was nacho cheese then it was not fresh or spoiled. It made the broccoli horrid.
The 1st big pitcher of water we were given was not washed properly. So there were lil lemon or juice pulp in the water u could see moving when poured. The 2nd water pitcher was fresh and clean
In all I loved the service, but I truly did dislike the food.
I hate to say it but I've had better at Red Lobster.
Maybe in the future I'll try to give this another chance. But for now I'm fine.
Also I must say the prices are...
Read moreAfter strong word of mouth, we decided upon Mo's. When we arrived at around 9:30 PM there was no one to seat us but we were quickly greeted by a manager (?). Halfway to a table our server, Derek, us.greeted us. He was very friendly and wanted to do his best but that service was just average and many other parts of our experience made this barely an acceptable experience.
The good: crab cakes were excellent. King crab was above average but not worth premium price paid. Menu is HUGE. Fries were fresh and crisp.
The bad: service, on all levels. To start, the 2 pounds of crab came without a dish to put them in. Butter came out not even warm, pretty much the biggest no no in my book. Broccoli was terrible and not fresh at all. Staff seen in front of house on phones and talking in groups more often than not.
We had to wait over ten minutes for STAFF to stop using the only restroom available. First it was a line staff/buser, then immediately after he left out server entered, then the guy who sat us. That is just bad management to have to both wait for the restroom due to staff use, but then, see your own server enter and exit is just unacceptable.
Sadly, we won't be back.
3 stars for the menu, crab cakes and king crab, otherwise it would be a 2, which I rarely give.
As we were in a rush to catch a train home, we didn't bother to make any remarks besides the butter, dish for crab, etc.
Also, I understand the fish market and freshness, but that shouldn't make it into the dining...
