Rookies Sports Bar & Grill (Roselle) — Restaurant in Roselle

I came here expecting to enjoy a nice night out. The food was actually very good — flavorful dishes and delicious sauces that really stood out. Unfortunately, the service at the bar completely ruined the experience.

From the moment I arrived, the two women working behind the bar paid no real attention to the customers. I ordered my food, and it was the kitchen staff who actually helped me. The bartenders spent most of the night chatting with a man I didn’t know, rather than serving or checking on guests.

When I finished my meal, I paid my full bill and intended to leave a small tip because of the poor service. That’s when things took a disturbing turn. The bartenders created an unnecessary “problem” to get me to sign something, and when I refused, they pressured and intimidated me into leaving a bigger tip before I could leave. I felt cornered and very uncomfortable.

No customer should be treated this way. Great food doesn’t excuse unprofessional, dishonest, and disrespectful behavior. I will not be coming back, and I hope management takes a hard look at the kind of service being...

Drinks were good, food didn’t taste bad. HOWEVER, I ordered the All American Patty Melt with swiss cheese for almost $16 with a side of greek fries and ranch. Our server (who wrote all our orders down before hand) gave me a completely different meal which was a side of onion rings, no ranch, and later found out the burger I ate was Monster of the Midway burger for $21. I settled for this meal because I originally was going back and forth with what I wanted to eat, so I didn’t say anything to the server. I ate the burger because the taste wasn’t bad, but I started feeling sick halfway into eating it. Threw everything up within 20 minutes because I felt so sick after. Mind you, I found out later that that burger specifically was layered with a huge block of Velveeta cheese, which is the fakest, cheapest cheese you can buy and they have the audacity to charge so much for it. My friends also felt sick after eating their meals, so I’m not sure if it was something bacterial or what but that was enough for us to decide to never go back...

this place is way overpriced $10.99 for mozzarella sticks? Which I did not order. I was there to watch the bears pre-season game against Cleveland with a friend of mine. We both ordered the dollar special hamburger and hot dog. I ordered mine with the tater tots I also added cheese to my burger to make it a cheeseburger that was $6.99.. I would like to say that the cheeseburger and hot dog we're just playing bad I had to send the hot dog back because it wasn't cooked all the way through however it wasn't really that busy so I don't understand how you can't cook a freaking hot dog. The hamburger was just blah no seasoning very thin I understand it's a dollar but my goodness at least make it edible. There was no use in complaining I wasn't impressed with the cheeseburger or hot dog so how could I try to be impressed with anything else they had?
