It's more of an advice than a review. Mr. Khai, I don't know whether you are the owner or not. You mstreated us so bad even though we are your customer. My wife asked how much is the baked fish and you quoted her $68 even though we orverheard you quoted the other table for $53. We didn't like the price quote you gave us so we decided to order other dishes. Your started treating us real bad. You brought out stale and cold rice and charged us $6 for the rice even though we didn't even order it. You then brought out 2 main dishes before you brought out the appetizer. Things got worse when we had to wait for you to bring out the "Bo Nuong Vi". We were waiting for almost an hour for the dish and then finally I asked the waitress and she told us that it was busy even though there were hardly any customer at your restaurant. Finally you managed to bring out something that we were about to fall out of our chairs. It's some sort of beef dish not even close to "Bo Nuong Vi". I have an advice for you: get out of the hospitality business if you continue to mistreat your customers like myself and my family. We were on our way from Zion National Park to find a restaurant in California. My sons recommended to go to Orange county for "Bun Bo Hue" because his friend in Southern California recommended to him. However, he said we could save an hour if we can find a restaurant in LA. That's when I search the web and found your restaurant. What a disappoitment, If there is a -10 rating I would give it to your restaurant. This is a warning to you because I will repeat this posting on facebook groups and other websites about how you mstreated us. BE HONEST WITH YOUR CUSTOMER or else you will face your KARMA someday. I know you have a lot of fake postings here but my complaint is genuine and I hope you will treat your customers better...
Read moreMany bad experiences when dine in here. Ordered grill fish, 2 grill rabbit, bò lá lốt. Grill fish was "cold", not even warm plus the meat is mushy so that mean the fish wasnt fresh. Both grill rabbit were unedible, meat had a weird taste, told the waitress to bring it back to the kitchen to check and she came back saying the kitchen confirm it's fresh. I had the grill rabbit many times at this same restaurant but it never taste this bad before. Either they changed cook or they just wouldnt admit they messed up my order. Bò lá lốt was overcook with too much black pepper that you cant really taste or smell anything else other than the pepper ( I suspected they trying to use the black pepper to cover the unfresh beef). Other thing is the waiter and waitress here arent helpful and honest at all. They would disappear for along time leaving customers by themselves. It's a hassle to look for them to order your food as well as ask for extra ultensils. They have no idea how to organize the table when placing food for customers. And they throw away my half eaten fish to make room for other dishes without asking. When I told them I wanted my half eaten fish home, they told me; "too bad, I threw it away already, you should have told me sooner". They didnt apologize nor offer any compensation. I crossed this place...
Read moreSau Can was another local foodie recommendation and in all my years exploring the SGV, I unfortunately never stopped by earlier! It's a super solid Vietnamese spot with great flavors and a lot of food on top of it.
Note that currently during the pandemic the restaurant is takeout only (no patio area). Service was super chill and friendly with my food all ready to go the minute I got there - parking was also plentiful. Google Maps should take you here easily but in case you miss it, note that you'll have to turn into Garvey Ave. to see the restaurant.
I ordered the bun bo (thit) nuong chia gia with the pork meat option, which had several items I really loved here. The dish itself was about $13+ and definitely got me super full. The pork itself was delicious and plentiful. Loved the peanuts and the seasoning - cooked super well. The eggrolls were also delicious (came with 2 - each split in half). The vermicelli noodles were also plentiful and pretty on point and yes - lots of fish sauce to cover the whole dish with (along with pickled carrots / radishes + a salad). It was a nice dish to eat on a hot summer day.
Hope to come back soon to try the famed...
