SamyiCake — Restaurant in Rosemead

They have good cakes but their customer service and reservation system is questionable. I called in earlier in the week to pick up two items for Saturday. They even said on the phone, “Oh you don’t need to make reservation. We’ll have the cakes on the day of.” Despite this, I still made a reservation for the pick up on Saturday.

This is because another time I went to the store which was later in the day, they sold out and advised us to call ahead to reserve.

Come Saturday, we go to pick it up and they didn’t reserve any of the items that we’ve requested through the phone by saying that we didn’t come and pick it up at noon when they opened. Like????????????

Firstly, when I called to reserve, they never mentioned what time I had to pick it up so why does it matter what time I come as long as the items are picked up before the store closes.

It just sounds to me like they were worried about leftovers so they sold the items we reserved. Luckily, the store still had the Japanese cheesecake we wanted but what happens if everything was sold out.
